IN A PERSIAN DREAM
Looking at this journal today feels just like being at the front door of an 11th century mosque in Turkey or Iran, as you step back in time. The design is taken from a detail of a tile decoration on the south Iwan, Masjid-I-Jameh (Masjid=Mosque) in Persia/Iran. The tile from the building it was taken from, was almost certainly made by a skilled artisan in a sophisticated society and culture of the period, under the Safavid Empire. It is one of the best journals I have ever had. I got two, one I have been using for a daily journal, the other I keep on my desk shelf, for decoration and inspiration. The front of the book is the tile decoration repeated several times over the front cover, the back has a short note saying where it is from, and the edging all round the pages is in bright silver contrasting with the lapis-blue design. It has 190 pages and lasts a long time, even if you write in it every day. I use a fine-pointed rollerball pen in different bright coloured inks to write in it. Turquoise ink looks particularly striking, but rose-coloured ink, which I wrote in today, looks beautiful. I think the spacing of the lines has helped my handwriting. I have a few notebooks from Peter Pauper Press, including the Persian Mosaic and Persian Garden journals, which I use for poetry and other creative writing. I mainly use plain coloured A4 notebooks, but I get one of these every now and again. At the moment I am writing in the Lindisfarne journal, inspired by the Lindisfarne Gospels and is a red and gold design taken from early Celtic and Germanic bookbinding. It has made my writing bloom! Definitely get this one, especially if you love beautiful stationery and the art of bookbinding, it has all the richness and artistry of the land from where it came. You will feel as if you are walking in a Persian dream!

Beautiful Silver-Blue Notebook
This notebook is of a good size and has a beautiful silver-blue cover with smaller images within the overall Persian design. Had bought it as a gift for a neice, but plan to hold on to it now as it's so lovely.

High-quality affordable notebook ideal for journaling
This is an absolutely beautiful notebook. I feel that Peter Pauper Press make notebooks that are similar in quality and appearance to Paperblanks but at a more affordable price. This notebook is a perfect example of that. The hardback cover is slightly textured and is very stylish. It is slightly larger than A5 which is a great size for journaling. The lined paper is thick and I was able to use my black gel pen on it without any problems.

Quality
This notebook is GORGEOUS and the best I have seen! Very well made and the design on the outside is beautiful. The quality of the whole product is, as far as I am concerned , MUCH better than notebooks from “other” suppliers! I will definitely be ordering more from this company in the future!

Exquisite
It's as beautiful as I thought it would be, and true to other comments, it handles fountain pens well. The 192 pages are faintly lined and there's a nice blue ribbon bookmark. The edges to the pages are silver too.The sticky label on the back came off very easily (had some concerns after one negative review), but if you pull it off slowly, it's gone. Total non-issue.The book itself is 22.8 x 18.3 x 2.0 cubic centimetres, with the pages inside a few millimetres off vertically and horizontally.Overall, very pleased and will definitely be buying similar or the same again in the future :D

Lovely Notebook
Although it says "journal" in the product description, I bought this to use for my research notes as I wanted something a little funkier than a plain old notebook for a change. This is perfect, the spacing of the lines on the pages means that I can fit more in and it looks very attractive. A higher price than what I've paid for notebooks in the past but I think it was worth it and will have no hesitation purchasing another one (perhaps a different design next time) when I come to the end of this one.Very pleased.
