EF - Fried Onions, Product of Holland, 2.2 Lb (1Kg)

These are wonderful! They are crispy with a great onion flavor. I buy these instead of the commercial ones in the can. ( You know the one) I sprinkle these on EVERYTHING!!! Will definitely buy again.

What a giant bag of onions! I really wasn't thinking in terms of quantity when I bought it but they will certainly be used. Excellent taste, I stored them in a clean coffee can and still had enough to have a see through bottle on the counter for daily use. I saw a recipe for Mujadara that I really couldn't get out of my mind. I am older and live solo so it was really a huge recipe, and often scaled down just doesn't work so I decided to go a different route. I saw the onions and sent for them and then I saw the basic Mujadara ingredients in one bag on Amazon fresh. Instead of rice it was barley with brown lentils - but the recipe author said use any grain. I sent for that mix with my regular groceries. Today I heated the bag of barley & lentils, sprinkled cumin on top and made a channel down the middle of the dish and filled it with crispy onions. I have no doubt it tastes nothing like the real mujardara but it was very tasty and I will not have to eat it for a week. My only other experience with fried onions was a green bean casserole (my family hated) many years ago. Then I remembered Ikea tops their veggie dog with pickled cabbage and crispy fried onions. Now I am on a search for ways to use these tasty devils.

I love these on my salad! They are so good.

The price was right 1/2 the price of the better quality fried onions. The taste not to bad but it looks like the scraping from bottom of barrel but I use it in almost everything prepared

obviously quality product, well packaged (though no resealable pouch, which is a nice luxury we have come to expect. But they usually work for crap anyhow, so no matter). This are just onion, so no "cold grease" mouthfeel like you get with the battered onions. However, the unadulterated onion flavor was just unpleasant. Back to tasty cold grease onions for us.

This is very crispy and accurate color with halal oil and not very oily , you can use in all stews, soups, but I mostly use this fried onion in my delicious Delhi style Qourma and chop masala, Roghan josh,the out come is great, I will recommend to all professionals and non professionals to use this onion.

They were crumbs, not french fried onion rings. I use french fried onion rings ( usually Durkee) in salads and casseroles.

I like the flavor of these fried onions. Don’t like that it should be described as fried onion breading.
