Bright headlight with some issues
PROs:1) Super bright headlight. Don't look into it even in the daytime. Even low brightness mode with blind you if you look into the headlight.2) Fits my narrow 22mm diameter handlebar.3) Will run on two AA NiMH rechargeable batteries.CONs:1) No apparent voltage regulation. Headlight draws about 1.0A at 2.8VDC in high brightness mode. The current draw however will quickly reduces as the batteries voltage drops. At 2.0VDC, the current draw is about 0.05A. That will drain your fresh AA batteries fairly quickly when high brightness mode. In low brightness mode, the headlight draws 0.35A at 3.0VDC and 0.025A at 2VDC. Below 2.0VDC, the headlight cuts out suddenly either in high brightness or low brightness mode. Headlight brightness is highly dependent on battery voltage. So while you get a pretty good indication the batteries are getting weak by the brightness, when the voltage gets too low, the headlight will suddenly cut out. For comparison, my older much dimmer headlight operates all the way down to 0.8VDC.2) Anything above 2.8VDC in high brightness mode will cause the light to overheat, stop producing light, and then literally short out your batteries. If this happens, you have disconnect the batteries to clear the fault. No, not even the power switch will work when this happens and it is still shorting out your batteries. At 3.0VDC, the headlight will heat up and short out in less than a minute. Probably not an issue with alkaline batteries with their relatively high internal resistance. Likewise, NiHM batteries will never exceed 2.8VDC. I definitely would not use Lithium AA batteries with their higher voltage output in at least the high brightness mode. In the low brightness mode, Lithium AA batteries should work okay.3) Depending on the seller, you may have to sign for the package. Even though I have a locked mail box, I had to make a trip down to the post office to sign for it. I didn't even get a notification of attempt delivery from the USPS and the seller did not supply tracking information when the order was made. It was only after I contacted the seller did I get the tracking number and had something to give to the post office.4) Headlight is a little front heavy. So if you hit a lot of bumps with the mount supplied, it will slowly start pointing to the ground. I plan to use some double sided tape to stiffen it up a little. The mount is kind of like a flexible watch band with notches. So it is not possible to really tightened the mount down to prevent movement.5) Front of headlight twist off with a fraction of a turn (maybe 10 degrees) to remove the batteries. I had a case when I went to take the bike out for a ride, I notice the headlight front and the batteries were missing. Fortunately, I found the items in my garage but it could have just as easily happen when I was riding. So I would recommend wrapping the seam with electrical tape to keep the front from twisting and falling off when riding.Other notes:While the headlight does have some issues, I am giving it 4 stars because it suits my needs and it was a good value for the money. Beside my old headlight had the same issues of slowing pointing down and the front of the headlight falling off easily.

It really lights up the bike trail at night. I love it!
I tested this product at night by our local wooded area near the rookery. The headlight worked amazingly well. I liked it so much I purchased another one for my husband’s bike. (I also recommended it on our bike ambassador page)

Nice light
Nice light. I chose this because the mounting base is the same as a higher end Niterider light I have. For just a couple dollars more than a spare base, I get the light too which I use in flash mode to increase my being visible during the day.

WORKS WELL AND IS RELIABLE.
While not the most luminous of bike lamps, it works well and will keep you safe. Run it day and night, though. You want to be as conspicuous as you can be. Good product for a fair price.

Well worth the price.
Made well, bright and handles well in rain. I use the blinking setting and ride for 1.5 hours a day and the two AA batteries last about 6-8 weeks.

Eventually, it breaks after 1 year
I was very happy with this light. It's not powerful enough for sport, but for everyday commuting/rides it worked very well. Definitely, you can see the road ahead at dark and you can be seen in the daytime when you use flashing mode. Also, I wanted a light with AA batteries like this, what gives me more flexibility than built-in battery.Unfortunately, it just broke down - 13 months after the purchase. A little bit of plastic (one of 3) that holds two pieces of the light together, broke and fell off. It seems that either springs under the batteries or rubber gasket give too much tension and try to split two parts of the light apart. Finally it broke. Such a shame, because other than that, this light is great.

The mount is not the same as in the photo
The light itself is good. The mount given is the issue. It is not the same as the product photo. The one shown is a clamp like with a ratchet style clicking to lock the mount in place on the handlebar. The one given uses a rubber strip to wrap around the handlebar, which doesn’t work. From my photo you can see that I’ve mounted it tightly, yet the light always dips when I ride over mild bumps. There’s no way to secure it without modifications to the mount as it is.
