Great book with nice basic recipes
Excellent simple recipes. With today's prices it is wonderful to have one good source of several recipes that also utilize similar ingredients. I have a small kitchen so these are perfect for us.

good eats!
Making Cuban black bean stew tomorrow-super easy. The whole book is geared to common sense living style, as in you do not need to spend a pile of money to eat healthy food. Plus you can change ingrediants without sacrificing taste, as in using on sale porkchops instead of the smoked bacon that the Cuban black beans I will make calls for. Will it ruin the stew? I doubt it. Will it taste just fine? I will bet so. I look forward to trying more stews and dishes.

Cheap food to prep
I love rice and beans, but never even thought to can them. I definitely will be now. Rice and beans are affordable, and you can stockpile these up to ten years. There are a lot of delicious recipes in this cookbook, with step-by-step instructions. Beans are a good source of protein and lasts a long time. It is recommended that you consume at least three cups of beans per week. That shouldn't be a problem because there are a great variety of beans on the market, like pinto. Lima, black bean, kidney and more. There are twelve essential nutrients found in beans, protein, calcium, potassium, fiber etc. Beans are a low acid food, so you need to use a pressure canner to can them. I have tried a few of the recipes in this cookbook so far and will be canning a lot more. Each recipe has the cooking time and the nutritional value.

Frugal and filling
I know this book is aimed preppers, but I would argue that this book can work for those who need to make their dollar stretch even further and feed quite a few people/meals. The book obviously focuses on cooking with rice and beans. These are great foods to have on hand since they last a long time, are relatively cheap, and can be made to feed a lot of people. There are a little over 150 recipes provided here. They cover meal types. So, the meals are breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. I liked that this book taught me some thigs about rice and beans I did not know.

3 1/2 pages about beans..
3 1/2 pages about beans.. why their nutritious, how much fiber they have, etc. 2 or 3 sentences about prepping with beans. Rice isn't even mentioned. 120 pages of recipes. There's 12 breakfast recipes, but 8 of those used canned beans (like the kind you buy at the store). Similar percentage for lunch and dinner. Completely lame as a prepping book.

Great book filled with lots of recipes and storage tips
The media could not be loaded. I couldn't be happier, there's a whole load of amazing recipes and knowledge on how to cook and store beans and rice not only that there's a super helpful measurement conversion table

Poor
This is not ideal for prepping. It feels like a bunch of over complicated recipes copy and pasted off Google.
