The chin didn't take to it immediately, but as she grew acostumed to the hut she started sleeping inside most of the time. Very well dimensioned, the chin fits in more than confortably. No bottom which avoids tough cleaning, and also an excellent ledge over which to take a nap. There aren't building instructions but it is easy enough to figure how to put it together.

Good little hideaway for my chinchillas, they definitely love it. Unfortunately it will not last very long as they have already chewed through a large section of roof and sides.

The product was easy to assemble but I was annoyed to find that it came with no base which was not clear from the pictures. My chinchillas are not going to enjoy using it without a base. Also quite expensive for what it is.

This chinny hut arrived well packaged and arrived on times, BUT although the wood is good a nice thickness i can't fault it, it's badly made when slotted together it's loose and the roof does'nt sit in properly and the floor, WHAT FLOOR? there is no floor, which may have helped to hold it together, who ever invented this product knows nothing about chinnys, it's a good size, inside measures 16x16cm ,height 15cm, the floor of a chinny's cage is usualy mesh so you need a floor in his/her sleeping area, and unless you screw it to the shelf its going to fall off, i have not come across a floorless chinny hut before, if you dont mind a bit of alterating and can fix a floor to the base as i have done, then it's ok ish, i haven't fixed the roof on as this makes for easier cleaning, all in all having to pay for something you have to fix before you can use it is a no no, i should have sent it back just couldn't be bothered but i was lucky enough to have a small piece of pine for the base, but quite frankly it would have been cheaper to have bought a piece of wood from a diy store and made my own, oh if you need the outside measurements are 18x18cm, including bits sticking out at corners makes it 20x20cm wood is 1cm thick, height with roof 16cm.

Easy and quick to assemble. Very sturdy and plenty of places for them to chew, chew, chew!

The point of the 'missing' floor is to make cleaning easier. When hoovering my chinchilla cage I lift these houses out, Hoover the entire floor and put them back down. Very convenient. Chins also love them for chewing, climbing, hiding. Great stuff.

My chins love these huts and I have a couple. I had one come damaged and it was replaced immediately. Easy to assemble and made very well.

Één ervan was al stuk aangekomen. De andere is stuk gegaan bij het in elkaar zetten.Heb het dan in elkaar gezet met lijm maar is het door de geur????? dat ze er niet in willen?Zelfs knabbele' doen ze er niet aan???

I was apprehensive while reading the many bad reviews, but I took a leap of faith and bought it anyways since Amazon has a fantastic return policy.I had a little bit of trouble fitting the pieces together, and an end piece broke off, but it still went together nicely and all sides stayed attached, even without me glueing the broken piece on.My hamster has more than enough room now! Also, my hamster never chews on any wood items in her cage, so I'm not concerned with this hut not being the right type of wood for her. Plus, animals in the wild don't have anyone there to mediate what they have contact with or not and they do perfectly fine. We need to stop treating animals like infant children.
