I have decorated cakes for 40 years, and have always wished someone would come up with this kind of decorating tip. I ordered these, eager to try them. First of all, if you are going to used these directly on cupcake with no base icing, then they are okay. But, if you are going to use them on cupcakes WITH base icing - or on a cake for a flower cascade or bouqet (which would have a base icing), the icing coming through the tube will not "stick" to the base icing very well, and you do not get the results you want. I did want a base icing, and ended up putting the cupcakes in the freezer for a "flash cooling" and then the icing from the tips made the desired flower. The instructions do say a stiff icing must be used, which is usually very sweet. This is fine for flowers, but would make a very thick, sweet base if you used that (to avoid cooling your "regular" base icing. Things to note: These tips do NOT fit the Wilton coupler set, and only one coupler comes per set - so you'll have to clean it each before using with different color. Also - it comes with some bags, which are about as strong as a dollar store baggie. I did try one of the bags, just as a test, and the side immediately split (and of course icing went everywhere). I ended up using my Wilton bags. Several times, when I was going to remove the tip to use a different one, the coupler would be "stuck" together - almost like it had been screwed on crooked, but it had not been. I would have to hold the two pieces with dish cloths to get a good grip on them, and still could not get them apart and twice, I had to cut the bag so that I could push on the inside coupler to get the outside to unscrew. (Not sure I explained that very well. I love the concept and what I did looked okay - not great - and not as wonderful as I had hoped - but okay. Perhaps more practice will help with how they look. One last thing - there is one folded up piece of paper within the box that states you to use one of the icing recipes they are providing, however there are no recipes on it. There is a QR code (box) for you to scan and access, but you must have a program on your cell phone to be able to access "recipes and more instructions and videos". No website was given, so if you can't scan and use the QR code, then you do not see the illustrations nor the recipes. Nothing on this sheet explains which tool does what either. Yes- I was disappointed. Yes - I will probably try again. But, if I knew all of this prior to ordering, then NO - I would not have bought this.

I'm not impressed with the coupler. It seems like it will strip easy. The plastic disposable bags are really flimsy also. The tips themselves seem good. You will need a little heavier/stiffer frosting to hold its shape with these tips. Store bought does not work. I was anxious to try them out and cheated- I will be making my own buttercream like normal next time.

The tips work perfectly if you have the icing the proper temperature. If icing gets too warm the tips won't release the icing properly. Our first attempt worked out well after refrigeration a few times.

Interesting piping tips that create lovely flowers with just a little bit of practice. However, having difficulty finding a good icing recipe that will hold its shape. Recommendation of using shortening not palatable. I want a tasty frosting. Tips, however, are a fun (and potentially time saving) option. Couplers aresolid, and tri-coupler to combine icing colors is great.

I tried one of the tips to decorate a chocolate cake. All the flowers did not look the same because I did not know how to do it at first. I suggest you practice a bit before putting them on your cake. They are very pretty.

These tips made decorating incredibly easy. I bake and decorate cakes for fun and was asked to replicate a wedding cake for a family members 60th anniversary. The cake came out beautiful thanks to these tips. Easiest tool I have ever used for decorating!

I was very happy to receive this product but haven't had the opportunity to use them yet. Am planning to use them for Easter. Am looking forward to seeing the beautiful results.
