Hinges on last one cracked after a year, these ones are way sturdier, the hinge is a brilliant design andbarring an elephant sitting on it, will last forever.

Easy to install, seems to be durable
I wanted a quality, heavy type, and sturdy toilet seat with soft close. Seems weird to get specific about a toilet seat but I don't like super light lids that want to close when lifted and feel flimsy with the hand or under the tush. I also wanted a toilet seat that had good brackets that won't easily break in a few years or crack. I wanted soft close, mainly because two toilets in my house have soft close and then you forget when one doesn't and it comes crashing down at 3AM. This toilet seat fits all of those requirements. It has weight to it and feels sturdy with the hand. It has large mostly metal brackets that seem oversized and not easily broken and it has soft close so that I'm not startling the wife, dog, kids in the middle of the night when I don't catch the lid close. 5 STARS
