TrixieRunning Plastic Disc, 17 cm

I am really impressed with this. Our Syrian Hamster's wheel broke and I was madly ordering wheels all over the place rather than leave him without one. Amazon of course are great for next day delivery, but I had ordered the same wheel he had before from somewhere else and it was going to take 5 days to arrive, and meanwhile I decided to order a Wobust Wodent wheel (which Amazon don't stock) and ordered this at the same time hoping one of them would arrive and be suitable. I didn't like the Wobust wheel, but instantly had a good feeling about this flying saucer and popped in Charlie's cage. He likes it too and was quite perky after using it. Check out youtube videos for how hamsters run on this 30cm wheel. This is the minimum size suitable for a Syrian hamster, so they can run on it properly. It does take up a fair bit of space, but if you have the recommended minimum size of cage of 80cm by 50cm it should fit in fine. It takes up about a quarter of our cage, in the corner where the wheel was and I had to move one toy out of the way. I almost prefer this to a wheel - but due to the amount of substrate it covers up (leaving less floor space), I am going to keep it as an out of cage toy when his new wheel arrives (The Karlie Wonderland wood bogie wheel 29cm - it's great).

This is the perfect size for a Syrian hamster and that of smaller species. The 30cm wheel is a great addition to my hamsters playpen and occasionally in his enclosure, alongside his 28cm upright wheel.Please remember this wheel is only suitable to use as a second wheel and not on its own. A suitable sized upright wheel is required.Very good plastic and durable. Very easy to kee clean. My hamster loves it!

When I first got the disc my hamster wasn't interested at all. She would sniff it and sit on it but no running. I was surprised because she had a smaller version when she was a baby that she LOVED but I unfortunately stood on that one and broke it... oops! I gave this new disc to her to try maybe 5ish times over a few weeks with no interest and then one day she just hopped on and started running! Maybe she just needed to get used to it and figure out what to do because she uses it loads now. She has both this and a wheel in her cage now and she switched between them both. It's not recommended for flying saucers to be used exclusively all the time instead of a wheel but definitely fun as a secondary form of exercise.I use coconut oil to make it easier to turn and get rid of any nasty squeaks. You definitely need some sort of oil to lubricate it or it's quite stiff and loud so I can't give it 5 stars. Totally fine with some coconut oil added though.

I've bought a few of these wheels and some have been absolutely fine, and some haven't. The plastic in some of them have deteriorated very quickly so they are not very quiet; whereas some have not deteriorated and are still very quiet. They run fairly smoothly and are loved by the mice, discs are generally better than wheels.The trixie discs are not as good as the original flying saucer wheels, and I feel it's worth spending the extra money to get flying saucers.

Love that it’s quiet. The old wheel attached to the cage and the sound reverberated through the floor to downstairs and sounded like thunder. This one is nice and big and quiet and doesn’t need too much height like the regular free standing wheels. We have it in his bin cage extension so head height isn’t enough for a 30cm wheel. Furthermore, when I watch Hamilton running, his back is completely straight, like he’s on a treadmill.Def recommend for Syrians

Really unimpressed with this wheel. Not sturdy and very cheaply made. No bearings for the spin. Just plastic on plastic. Returned and would not recommend at all.

Overall it does what it says on the box and our hamster uses it a lot when he's out on the settee. As there is no bearing in the unit, the wheel spins against the plastic of the base. It does benefit from a slight amount of a non oil-based lubricant in the base to help the Hamster and keep the wheel silent. I used a silicon spray which I got to keep my airsoft gun in tiptop order. The Hamster can't get to the lubricant unless it figures out how to lift the wheel from the base. We have a large, vertical 30cm diameter 10cm wide, wheel in the cage which is vital for any Syrian Hamster but the thing to watch for with this one is the animal running with a curved back which is no good for it in the long run. Altogether, a nice wheel and well worth the investment.

We added this wheel as a second wheel for my hamster later on in his life. He always had a large standing up one he loved so we thought we would give him another wheel type toy. He loved this one aswell and would run from this, run on it, then jump in his old wheel, and run on that, and swap again. it was a pleasure to watch. The only thing is be wary that bedding/ wood flakes could get stuck between the wheel and stand and make it harder for your little buddy to run. So make sure it is always nice and smooth for them. i dont think i would use this as the only wheel in the cage as he didnt seem to use it as much as the original standing up one (that seemed funner and easier for him) but it was nice as a second toy.(We had two large cages connected to give the space for both wheels and other things he needed)

Ho un orsetto russo di medie dimensioni, leggermente più piccola di un criceto. Consiglio di tenere ben presente le misure dell'animale che avete prima di acquistarla, è forse un po' piccola per dei criceti.Sembra comunque di buona qualità
