Amazing product for novice fermenter
I am very happy with the easy set up, good quality airlock lids with weights. The price is fair in comparison to other options. I also like the included weights that save me the trouble to purchase separately.I will continue to purchase more as I gain more experience with variety of ferments.

Perfect for my hot sauce hobby
I'm giving 5 stars and I haven't used yet. All I know now is the set is beautiful, well made and contains everything I need to start my fermentation journey. As soon as my pepper harvest starts, I'm making hot sauce! It stores well, too.

Instructions incomplete, small design complication, otherwise it seems well made.
Note that this works only with wide mouth jars, which are NOT the normal canning jars. I always thought the normal ones were wide mouth, but I just found out that they are not. So be aware of what kind of jar these need.It seems like this is one of those vacuum seal kits that they decided to convert to a fermentation kit, but didn't go all the way to explaining it all. The instruction pamphlet is nice, and only has a couple of grammar/spelling errors (unlike a lot of things on Amazon these days, unfortunately), and there are a few recipes even, but it doesn't really go into any detail about how to use the kit itself. There is a brief mention of using the pump, and no mention whatsoever about using the weights. If you know fermenting, you can figure it out, but I discovered that the weight can interfere with the valve. Normally I use the jar lid to push down the weight, but in this case you have to make sure that there is enough room above the weight handle so that there is a clear airway for the pump to work.Other than those weird little issues, it seems like a slightly above average kit. The pump seems to have worked well (though I have no idea how long I was supposed to pump it, and figured that once the bubbles stopped coming up from around the veggies it was good), and so far the valve seems to be keeping the air out. Note, I have no idea if pickling/fermenting works better in a vacuum. So this could just be a gimmick. But I do know that allowing the gas to escape, as these lids with valves do, is useful, and the weights are obviously useful for keeping the veggies below the liquid surface, so at least 2 out of three of these elements are definitely useful, in theory.I'll update this review as I use the kit more. The valves might end up being a weak point, since if they get a little worn/loose, they lose their function....Key to ratings:***** - well above average - best I’ve seen**** - above average - very good quality*** - average - not bad, not great** - below average - I probably wish I got something different* - a waste of resources - I wish this had never been made
