Yes, but "less is more" - you do not want the bacteria to reduce the oxygen levels in your tank. So care must be taken.

A more advanced method is to make some up in a little solution and water down through the roots. That way its less likely to just sit in the tank. This is not a chemical or nute - so "less is more"

do i have to make a tea first or can use the powder straight in the tank(hydro) ?

It's water soluble but it's got grainy bits in so not ideal if you have any piping in your system. There is no pre need to brew a tea but I have used this with their Myco Hydro product with natures candy to brew a tea before. Its a top quality product, for sure.
