Kit for Hewlett Packard (HP) printers

Read the instructions and this is one very good kit.I've used them before so didn't do that and it didn't quite do the job first time the key with this kit is to put the liquid into hot water so on the second go when I heated the fluid it clean the head after I left it to soak in in overnight. After clearing away the smears I will now printing 100% clean. The instructions are very good and the overall kit construction does what it says on the tin. I only had a blocked black jet but I decided to clean them all and I must say I'm very impressed with the results. Because it was much cheaper than getting it done at the local PC shop. again can I stress make sure you really heat up the fluid because it gets those blockages sorted out much quicker and wear the gloves biggest the ink can overspill the blotting paper so I use two pieces instead of one and it made the job much neater. I'm not a paid reviewer and I didn't get this product free to tested I just feel sometimes you read these reviews and you know the written by somebody by the working for the company for a paid reviewer and mine is an honest review from somebody that thought he was going to have to bin in a 15-month old printer.

As I don't use my inkjet printer often enough, the magenta, cyan and yellow print heads became blocked. Having purchased the kit, I followed the instructions as best as I could. They were fairly straightforward, however there were elements that could be clearer. When I injected the fluid into the print heads there was quite a lot of fluid sitting in the around the top of the printhead mesh and it wasn't clear if this was supposed to be there or not. Having left the fluid to work and checking that the print head gauze had cleared, I then put in the second application of fluid. As I didn't get a fine spray of liquid coming out of the bottom of the print head, I decided to give it another application and leave it longer. Again, there was a lot of cleaning fluid sitting in the base of the print head carrier which I eventually tipped out before again putting in the final shots of fluid. Again I didn't get a fine spray of fluid when injecting the final treatment but decided to put the print head back in the printer and put in new ink cartridges. When I closed the printer, the print head wasn't being recognised so after a few attempts of removing the cartridges and the print head carriage and replacing them I was still getting an error message. So I decided to turn the printer off and re-start it and all was fine. I did a couple of print quality tests and head cleaning cycles to get rid of any cleaning fluid and managed to get all the cartridges working perfectly. The whole process is quite fiddly and doesn't exactly follow the instructions, but if you persevere (providing the print head carriage isn't damaged) this product does work well.

This product has improved my printer a lot. It took a few attempts to get it working better, but it is cheaper than having to buy a new printer so I am happy about that. I will start cleaning the print heads on a regular basis, as there is still lots of the solution left and it's good value for money. Print Head Hospital will even give you £10 back if it doesn't work on your printer, so it's definitely worth a try.

I have given this product a 3 star rating for these reasons: Delivered quickly as expected Correct contents as expected Worked (eventually) as expected Why not 5 stars then? Simply because it is quite expensive for what is included - essentially a syringe, short piece of tube, some cleaning fluid and some gloves. Don't get me wrong - all reasonable quality however I suspect the cheaper options would be better value (and worthy of more stars). Also, please note that ths can be seriously messy - fixing my HP 8600 took quite a few attempts and in the process the tube burst off spectactularly covering cupboads and walls etc... I also managed to get ink all over my clothing. All my fault of course and not that of the product - just saying that if you use this or any alternatives, I recommend you do it in the garage and wearing old clothes!

The black ink in my HP Photosmart 5520 suddenly stopped printing. I tried all the usual onboard cleaning options and also a new cartridge but to no avail. With the partial money-back promise, I decided to give this product a try. Initially I tried cleaning the printhead in situ - no luck. I then looked on You tube and found an excellent video on how to remove the printhead and with nothing to lose I went ahead. I then followed the very clear instructions in this kit .... and was absolutely amazed to find my printer is now up and running as good as new. I honestly hadn't held out much hope and was resigned to buying a replacement. It's early days but I can see no reason why it won't continue to print properly for the forseeable future. Also if the printhead clogs up again I have plenty of fluid left to repeat the process. Great product if you follow the instructions. I'd definitely recommend it.

WOW! This really works well. I was on the brink of giving up and just buying a new printer when a bit of internet research unearthed this product. The reviews convinced me to give it a go. Definitely money well spent. I watched the video instructions first and was careful to heat the syringe and tubing as well as the cleaning fluid, and used kitchen towel as recommended in the video instead of blotting paper as I knew the print heads were very clogged. Took just one attempt at cleaning followed by a couple of 'clean printheads' and 'print quality check' cycles as per instructions and my printer is a good a new. After cleaning the printer at first did not recognise the cartridges, but as per instructions I switched off for a few seconds then on again and hey presto! All good. Plenty of cleaner left for another time too - probably enough for four more cleans. Nice strong and large gloves too (I often struggle to get ones big enough), although I'll need new ones next time as they got really dirty - not a problem as I have a big box of them I use for decorating / cleaning anyway.

I needed to clean my printhead as the blue ink had stopped printing and the 'clean printhead' option had not worked after many attempts and use of a new print cartridge. I saw this product and checked that the product was compatible with my printer before ordering and followed the instructions that came with the cleaning kit. Despite several attempts, there was no change with the blue printing and I had to buy a new printer. The seller offers a money back guarantee if the product fails to clean your printhead, but there are no instructions on how to claim this. Returning the item is not appropriate as it has been used and Amazon offers no alternative route for exercising the guarantee, so it is worthless!

Well . . I am not in the slightest technically minded and when my printer stopped printing black I was very worried. My local computer shop said I'd probably need a new printer, advised me what to buy and how to connect it. Searching online I worked out that it was the printer head and that my printer HP5510 has a fixed printer head which you can't take out and soak. Then I saw the cleaning kit and looked at the positive reviews and thought I'd give it a go. The kit is not at all high tech and I did follow the instructions carefully but they are very easy. I also watched the video which explains everything step by step and very simplistically. I was a bit unsure about fitting the kitchen towel under the printer head as I was worried about moving the head manually and I felt I might be forcing it or that I was putting it in the wrong place. But it was all fine. I boiled the kettle, warmed the bottle AND TUBE for 5 mins, filled the syringe with 3mls of liquid, and squirted 2mls as instructed. Then I replaced the kitchen towel which was quite inky and squirted another 1 ml. Then I did the self clean and I was amazed when it printed normally and it has done so since. I had spent a couple of hours searching the internet for ways to remedy the problem and I'm so pleased I found this.

The cleaning kit arrived quickly and was easy to use following the instructions included and the youtube video on their website. My EPSON printer is now printing black ink again!
