Better Man by Phil Perry

A beautiful, sophisticated modern soul album from a genuine veteran recovered from illness. He sounds renewed here, everything about this is great. The songs are luxurious the famous vocals on top form, the production is modern but harks back to the best of the 1980s before New Jack Swing took the heart out of soul and turned it into R&B. An album any soul fan will return to continually.
