by Marjorie's husband: we have motion sensors rigged to our outside garage lights and porch lights. So handy to be able to have the lights come on as we walk into the yard - and here in Alaskan winters we have a lot of darkness. This fall it seemed the sensor on our garage lights was not working well. I also have some security cameras and they were indicating we had brown bears wandering the yard at night and they were not triggering the old sensor. Definitely time to change. So I picked this one and only recently had time to install. I really like it so far and hold back one star as I can't speak to durability after 2 weeks of use. It is MUCH BETTER than the old sensor, easy to install, and triggers better - especially immediately below the sensor - a major failing of the other brand. I really like that the adjustments are easy to make, easy to see and relatively simple to understand. I'm still making small adjustments to the triggering radius. I am likely to get another one to replace the 20+ yr old sensor for our house porch. I really don't want to stumble onto a grizzly bear on my walk way and I'm thinking this sensor will help. UPDATE 8-26-18 As our daylight hours diminish I'm liking this even more. Much quicker than the old one and wider sensing range. I bought a second one and installed it at our front door. It activates our porch lights the instant I open the door - I love that. The old one I had to reach up and wave my hand by it; NO more. With one on the garage and one on the house I have steady light the whole way. Like the adjustments.

The sensors available at most stores are worthless, for they have a short life. Even the warranty replacement units are no better. Not only was the short life of the product and associated costs of replacement frustrating, the frequent need to reinstall the sensor required a tall ladder to reach the location. Not a place one wants to be.But finding an alternative was difficult. However, I discovered the RAB sensor and was impressed by the mostly positive reviews. The c ost, however, was significantly more than the other available product with the short life. So, I decided to give the RAB sensor a try. I ordered it from an Internet vendor.When it arrived, the first thing I noticed was the box used by the manufacturer was 3X the size of the other product I used in the past, and the box was heavy--duty. The instructions were very detailed and were written by someone who used "American" English, rather than a translation from an Asian language into English by someone who English was not their first language. The directions were a step-by-step outline and should make anyone, particularly someone who had no knowledge of electrical wiring, confident in their ability to make the installation. Contrary to what some reviewers wrote about missing parts, every part was there and packaged in small sealed units.The installation was fast and easy, although I had lots of experience with the "other" company's product. Even so, I followed the RAB instructions as written. Since the installation was done during daylight, I was anxious to see how it worked after dusk. My unit faces the back of my house, so that it would turn on when using the garage, upper deck, lower patio, or just taking trash to the bins. Rather than using one of the back doors, I walked from the front of my house to the back. My foot activated the light when I rounded the corner of my house! And, it has worked flawlessly since.If RAB put the same care and thought in the design and production of the Super Steath Sensor as they did in its packaging and instructions, I believe I have finally found a reliable sensor that will give me many years of service. But I kept the warranty and purchase receipt, just in case..

The sensor's box came opened. Wire strands on sensor conductors tightly twisted- evidence of installation attempt. Will find if the sensor works before returning. Will update review.

Replaced a new set of Hubbell 270 motion sensors for these RAD 360. We have a set of lights always on and run through the motion sensors to turn on when we walk outside the doors. The sensitivity, distance is excellent. Due to the sloping land, I'm not sure of the true distance it can detect, but it is a good 40' for me. The 360 down sensor picks up very quickly and has good distance. I think greater than the 10' they state. We have not gotten the manual override to work on a set of UPB automation switches. We had wanted to have the security system manually turn on (override) all outside lights when the alarm went off. They motion sensor seems to not want to stay on when you blink it twice. Don't know if this has something to do with the automation switches dimming ability or not. Highly recommend. Very well built.Electrician installed the 360 security lights and threw out the accessories packet with screwdriver, sensor tape, etc. Unable to get replacements from RAB

D.O.A. ended up going to the Local Electric shop. And bought the exact same model. I spent about $25.00 more but it works great. I would definitely recommend this sensor to anybody that is looking for a very good motion detector. I would definitely by this unit again!
