Wicker Shopping Basket For Bicycle

Good basket, looks nice, however its very deep, the base was about two inches off the top of my front wheel, which was fine for light items, but no good whatsoever for any sort of weight in there. The addition of anything more than an item of clothing i.e. a jumper, makes the basket sag down and it catches on the wheel. Mine is now wrecked at the bottom because I had a small bottle of water in there and going over any sort of bump made it catch on the wheel.It looks really nice though, and its handy having the handle and its easily removable to take into a shop with you too. Very pretty, just not altogether that practical for a basket this size, if you can't actually put anything in it!

Nice big basket, which fitted on to my mountain bike easily. Basket itself is sturdy, handle comes in useful to lift basket on and off bike. I wanted this for my old mountain bike that I use to get to the station everyday and didn't want to spend too much or have something that was flimsy, but wanted something]n portable to take on the train. I haven't ordered a basket support with this, and have been able to use bike/basket well for my commute on flatter ground. But then noticed on bumpier terrain it needs securing a bit better, so have ordered leather basket ties. I shopped around a lot of the quality of this basket is a lot better than on the high street. I also have a Pashley complete with their basket and this one was just as good for my mountain bike.

Brilliant - I did need to add on extra attachment with cable ties BUT I was cycling in 66 mile charity cycle rides. It carried loads and looked great, really pleased with it. Only negative is that it fits too loosely but with a little home made extra security it's fine.

I am in love with this basket!It fits perfectly in my raleigh vogue and it is really big which means I can carry a lot of stuff! It secures very well as the handles are adjustable, but they are strong enough to hold the basket without the use of any rack. I carry a lot of heavy groceries without any problem. Really pleased with this basket and would definitely recommend it!

I was very dissappointed with the quality. it was very light (weight) and would not hold much without compromising the base of the basket. Mine arrived with a large gap in the weave on the base which I believed constituted a hole. I returned it as faulty but was not refunded the postage (£4.60 I think). There are many others out there now, so I would advise against this one. Halfords do a good one as does Moore's Cycles.

At face value the basket is large and strong, however it is not been coted in any weathering paint to protect it. My personal experience with trying to get the basket to stay put on my handle bars was not successful in any way. This means that the basket slides around, will drop down onto my wheel when items where put into it and even fall off completely. Despite this it was delivered swiftly and undamaged. Plenty big enough for your shopping and the hoops were easily bent to fit the handlebars. The basket weave was adequate but nothing out of the ordinary, I have gone to the trouble of varnishing the cane which is bare just to give it more protection. For the money it is a fair purchase

This basket is well made, however, I felt that anything weighty (e.g. my rucksack for uni) affected my steering and stability on my bike so I sold this item second hand and opted for panniers instead.
