Dreamland Intelliheat Harmony Single Heated Over Blanket

I chose this particular blanket for my uncle (he’s my 89-years-old mother’s 87-years-old bachelor brother) who lives alone, and has dementia and back problems amongst other things. Being very independent, and set in his ways, taking advice from no-one, he kept insisting that his old electric underblanket had years of use left in it. However, he had recently taken delivery of a pressure mattress, on medical grounds - which is like a Li-Lo, but is very lightweight, and made from (inflated) tube-like plastic. There was no way the old underblanket could stay on the bed between the normal mattress and the pressure mattress.So, he put it between his two duvets which were on top of a top-sheet, and then he covered the bottom half of the duvets with another duvet folded in half, because his feet get cold. Not only that, the underblanket was all creased up - greatly increasing the risk of overheating, and causing a fire. My uncle lived most of his life in Africa, and cannot tolerate the cold - and at under 8st he’s also very frail. He is even cold during a heatwave.This overblanket exceeded my expectations, so much so that I am going to buy one for myself. It’s a good size, hanging well over the sides and the end of a standard single bed; it can be switched on whilst undressing; and it heats the bed in under 5 mins, so there’s no having to remember to switch it on an hour or two before retiring. It has five all night settings and, best of all, it automatically adjusts to body heat within each setting. It also automatically switches off after 9 hours, or 1 hour depending upon which setting is chosen. This is a great safety feature for my uncle, and a money saver, as he used to leave his electric underblanket on 24/7. It’s pricier than many overblankets, but well worth the outlay as far as I’m concerned.

Where do I start with this review?!! We bought this product in the middle of last December and it has to be our most prized possession!!! 3 year's ago we bought adjustable beds and had to dispose of our underblanket and suffer with hot water bottles. We also understood that with memory foam beds that we shouldn't use an electric blanket as it affects the foam. However this winter we were so miserable with the cold (having switched off the heating in the bedrooms) that I went onto the internet desperate to find a blanket we could use. I came across the review from a couple who also own adjustable beds and who bought the Dreamland Intelliheat. That was it, the blanket was ordered immediately and we haven't looked back since!! It is pure luxury!!!! The dual controls are perfect as I feel the cold more than my husband and I like to keep the blanket on 1 or 2 all night. I love the way the temperature adjusts through the night so that you never wake up over heated! The blanket only needs putting on 5 minutes before bedtime as it heats up within that time. I also like the lemon colour the blanket comes in with a nice lemon satin edging.When telling our friends and family about our purchase , we are surprised at how many of them haven't got an electric blanket - they seem to 'worry' about using them. This is their choice of course, but I have to say that, used correctly, electric blankets are perfectly safe - they don't know what they are missing not having one. Once purchased you cannot be without and this particular model is the best I've ever bought.

Have been using this for nearly three months since Christmas 2013/14. It replaced an old overblanket, which had done very good service. While the quality of this unit is not quite that of the old one, the speed that this heats the bed is exceptional. It will heat to an acceptable temperature in just 5 mins, as it states. Leaving longer will get warmer but that is really unnecessary and wasteful of energy. The timer function is useful but once timed out the brightness of the indicators is excessive. The longer timer (1hr & 9hr avail) probably wouldn't cause a problem with the light being too bright as it would be morning by then. We now only preheat (level 6), then switch off completely, so timeout light is not a problem and jumping in is a pleasure. The size of the double fits our bed very well, with the heating elements covering the slept area pretty well perfectly side to side and head to foot is generous, catering for my 6 foot frame with ease. The side overhang (the part of the blanket not containing elements) could have been more generous but that is a minor gripe. The two halves are independently controlled and butt together well, so no cold patch down the middle of the bed to spoil your night.

Purchased the blanket four weeks ago. It was hard to find other electric over blankets so I cannot make comparisons. It does however have all the features I wanted, and it works well. One problem though: it will not stay put in the duvet cover I am using which matches My husband's duvet cover. We have single beds pushed together, because I need a profiling bed that raises my head and shoulders, and also my legs and feet. I cannot lie flat to sleep for medical reasons. I find the blanket moves inside the cover and I have an empty strip at the top end. Never the less,I am generally pleased with it because I can vary the heat as needed and keep warm all night.The blanket can be used with a sheet and bed spread instead of a Duvet cover, so I would thoroughly recommend this electric blanket to anyone.

After mild use and never machine washed the one out of the two zones broke down. An expensive blanket like this one end up not lasting or lasting less than a much cheaper one I had in the past. Sad very sad. Still crying my money that I wasted!

Imprescindible para dormir caliente en invierno con mínimo consumo eléctrico. La ponemos en la cama de matrimonio, debajo del salva colchón y su potencia es más que suficiente. El modo 6 es para calentar la cama, luego para dormir con un 2ó3 es más que suficientemente. A penas consume 150w a máxima potencia para las dos zonas independientes a la vez. Te olvidarás de poner radiadores, aires o encender la calefacción. Y ya no podrás pasar sin el gustazo de meterte en la cama calentita después de un día de trabajo.

Es la segunda vez que compro este producto ya que la que tengo funciona realmente bien. En la otra ocasion no lo valore muy bien porque me desagrado que llevase clavija inglesa y tener que comprar adaptadores. Pero despues de estar usandola durante un año estoy muy contenta con el producto. Calienta rapido y da un calor muy natural, el mando tiene dos opciones de tiempo, el de una hora para usarlo si solo lo quieres al meterte a la cama o precalentar, y el de 9 horas para toda la noche; tiene regulador de intensidad de calor que funciona muy bien.Tambien compre hace una año, para otra cama, el cubrecolchon electrico, sin embargo he de decir que es mucho mas agradable que el calor venga de arriba que de abajo, parece mas natural.Hay que tener en cuenta que hay que comprar adaptadores para las clavijas, si es para cama doble lleva dos.

Esta manta doble, ha llegado perfectamente bien y creo que hay que tener varias cosas en cuenta al coprarla.La primera que los enchufes de los dos mandos son de clavija inglesa y hay que comprar adaptadores a parte y lo segundo la medida.Tiene una medida de 180cm X 180cm. que no lo pone por ningún lado en la descripción del producto y por eso le doy 4 estrellas.Me arriesgué a pedirla y me va bien de medida, pero la compré a ciegas sin saber lo que me encontraría.La manta tiene buena calidad y el mando de regulación de calor y tiempo es de lo mejor que he visto.Se puede programar para que se apague en una hora o en 9 horas.En definitiva, buena manta que la recomiendo.Ah! otra cosa, el circuito de calor no va hasta los extremos, quedarán unos 12cm en cada lado sin cubrir.
