3 separate compartments. Seems good quality as its a soft case. Holds everything I need as an artist on the go.

I like it but it is a gift.
I can only say that I am impressed but I bought it for my granddaughter so I won't really know until she gets it at xmas. I'm sure she will let me know if all the other stuff i bought her fits and if it is trendy enough to take to school .
