Expensive for a spoon rest, but stylish and the quality you'd expect from Alessi.

I was looking to replace an ancient melamine spoon rest and decided to buy this one as I thought it would not only do the job it was bought for but also look stylish at the same time. It is quite light and only holds one spoon instead of the three that my old one did, but I tend to use only one spoon at a time, so no problem for me. Overall I'm very pleased with it, but have deducted one star because it is a bit pricey for what it is.

My kitchen could be an Alessi showroom. I’m often given items as Xmas gifts but this I bought for myself since it wasn’t hugely expensive. It’s useful for resting tea spoons, wet tea bags and cooking utensils on to keep the counter top clean. It’s shape makes it a joy to clean and dry to a shine. Small item, small pleasures but a lovely object to enjoy now we are all in incarcerated in our homes.

Bought for my Wife's porridge spurtle! Perfect size and shape. Small but beautifully proportioned item. Easy to clean and looks great on the work surface. No very sharp edges on mine (which some have complained about) but I wouldn't want to slide it around too much, as it may scratch. It's not cheap for a spoon rest, but it's an ok price for what you get and I haven't found anything else so perfect for a spurtle! Pleased with this purchase.

This small Alessi wavy tray is gorgeous. It’s modern, chic & looks so sophisticated. It’s so versatile as it can be used as a spoon rest, match holder or jewellery catch all so can be used in any room in the house.

This is a nice item but it really is expensive for what it is. I wouldn’t recommend

This is a work of art, as to be expected with Alessi and why we purchase Alessi. It's gorgeous. Luckily for me, I got it for a steal on a warehouse deal because someone missed the point. (If you want a $6 behemoth, monster holder that can catch every spill, get a KitchenPro "boat" at CostCo. This is not that. This is for Alessi loyalist nerds who desire a beautiful work of art and design that happens to double as a spoon holder.) Yes, it is smaller and somewhat daintier than the average spoon holder, but it still lovingly, perfectly cradles all my cooking utensils while making me appear much classier than I am. I keep it on the divider in the center of my stove, a little pop of elegant, whimsical design on the kitchen island where it can appreciated by the masses. Initially after reading reviews, I tried using it as a spoon holder for my coffee. But that covered it with drips, sullying its sparkling luster and buried it next to a machine in the shadows, like just another spoon holder. But this is Alessi and like all art, it is meant to be seen and enjoyed. Art is unexpected, not homogenous or predictable, and it shouldn't be like the rest--or it wouldn't be Alessi! The fact that it's also practical is Alessi's trademark bonus icing on the design-nerd cake. (I'd say it's too small to give as a gift alone, but would be lovely in a coffee/tea basket, or with the Alessi heart teaspoons.) If you love Alessi, you'll delight in it and adore it and find a purpose for it. Even if that's just staring admiringly at it on your counter, for beauty's sake.
