Have a 5year old beagle that’s been on this food for about 3 years and it has helped maintain her weight at 25 lbs. I walk her about 2 miles a day and she has had no health problems at all!! Very happy beagle!!

The bags arrived undamaged and completely sealed. Once opened, however, they contained moth eggs and larvae throughout. We discarded one bag and checked the other two, which were equally contaminated. We called the manufacturer, who wrote a support ticket, and talked to Amazon customer service, who said there was nothing they could do about issuing a refund or replacement. I would stay far away from this until Blue Buffalo or Amazon can resolve this issue.

I wanted a chicken free diet food for my chonky Labrador... This has some chicken, but seems to be low enough that there's no paw licking and such. He took some time to adjust to it, but likes it ok now. I do mix in a little canned food and pumpkin/fiber supplement to firm up the poops... So far so good. A little pricey, but I'd rather have quality food for my boy. He has dropped a few pounds in a few weeks.

We've had our pups on Science Diet for a while and noticed that they never quite felt satisfied with this formula. No matter the amount given, my 50-pounder always came to me asking for more. So, right when we were about to start looking for a different formula, we happened upon this one and thought to give it a try. Ingredients: 5-stars The first three ingredients of this formula are meat products (deboned beef, beef meal, and fish meal). This is important, as good parents know, because so many of the low-grade foods contain corn products or other fillers that are not good for our babies. I was also happy to see some fruit products built into the formula. Long ago we had my pups on a food that had dried cranberries, peas, bananas, carrots, and potatoes and the manufacturer discontinued the line. We have not been able to find something comparable. To see antioxidants built into this formula shows me the manufacturer cares about making a food we can depend to be good for our pups and that we'll continue buying. Taste: 5-stars Yes, we tasted it. I have to say this product is less bland than some other brands we've tried. What this means is the more I can taste it, the more my dogs can taste it. I've learned that because their taste buds are sensitive, most foods that seem bland to us are, in actuality, flavorful to them. The taste is like a watered-down beef stew and my pups went to town on it. What pups thought: 5-stars When we first got this bag, we had it sitting next to their food container. We opened it and scooped in just enough to start integrating the new product with the old (so as not to upset their tummies). The food container is at the back of the house by our pantry. Our living room is toward the front of the house. For a few days, our dogs wouldn't lay in their beds in the evenings while we watched a little bit of before-bed tv. They had opted to go lay on the rug that sits between the kitchen and the garage more toward the back of the house. We had no idea why. When we would try to shoo them to the living room, they got all grouchy and started complaining. They would move, but they would just go right back. After a while we figured out what was happening. They were guarding the new food! We had never seen this behavior before and had no idea what to do. So we mixed the entire bag with their old food and let them have the empty bag. They licked and licked, and when they were done with it, we threw the bag away. The behavior stopped instantly. Bizarre, but told me everything I needed to know - they loved this food.
