I'm sorry, I did not purchase the dinosaur version. I bought the flower and butterfly mold. You are right, many molds do not sit flat. I don't know why the designers don't think of that. Hope you are able to get the answer from someone. The flower and butterfly mold is a very nice quality and they do sit flat.
