Use a 6mm semi pipe to align ends after heating to bring together
This product is a bit pricey but it is magic. I bought it to replace a broken drive belt for a bandsaw which is obsolete. I used a 25 watt soldering iron to heat a small aluminium plate which I used to heat both ends of this belt until they started to melt. I then brought the ends together in a 6mm semi pipe that I cut in half to form a semi circle to provide alignment, and they held with strength, strong enough for my bandsaw. I had to do a little bit of trimming but that wasn't a problem. I no longer need to buy a new band saw. This stuff works really well and the . I strongly recommend this product.

Sorry but two days in and it’s slipping badly.
First two attempts at joining failed, third time I tried super glue, it failed. Then I gripped both ends in a vice such that they were aligned, then separated them to melt the ends and push them back together, i then gently blew compressed air over the joint to cool it inside faster, which it did. So now had a good join.I now have a Champion No1 antique drill and was setting it up to use a sewing machine motor to drive it.The belt started slipping under tension, so I turned a one inch pulley on the lathe to give it a greater gripping surface. That didn’t work either. The belt is too plasticky it’s sliding instead of gripping.
