Mekanic 16pc Inner Bearing Blind Hole Remover Extractor Puller Set Pilot Bushes Housing

I bought this "need to have" work shop blind bearing puller set back in Aug 16, with the intention of replacing the steering head bearings on my motorbike - but for one reason or another, I put the job off for a rainy day. Today was that day and I successfully removed the outer race of both the top and bottom steering head bearings from the head stock. The tool was so simple to use - select the right size puller, screw onto slide hammer attachment, insert into bearing and screw in the central core to expand it behind the bearing race. A few slides with the hammer and the outer race could be seen to be moving - a few more whacks and the race popped out. Repeated for the lower bearing, with the same excellent result. Not bad for bearings that have been in place for 27 years. No heating, no mess, no damage caused by misplaced hammer blows, this puller set made it such a straightforward job. It's not a tool I will need every day, but the quality seems good and I expect it will be a tool that will last for a very long time. Wish I had bought one years ago!

Seem to be a good kit, but I’m a bit puzzled by this bit - shouldn’t that be expandable like the others?

Used for BMW Airhead taper roller wheel bearing replacement. This is not a use once and chuck away tool. It survived heating and beating on some blocks of wood with a 2kG hammer against high-quality (hard and durable) German wheel bearings. They appear at different prices (the same thing) so shop around. Very happy with this.

We bought this is May 2017 and it has been a great set. It does not get heavily used and I was dismayed when the second smallest extractor snapped during use. I reported it to UK Tools Direct expecting a warranty replacement only to be told they only offer a 6 month warranty!!! Looks like we will be shopping elsewhere from now on.

For the money does the job could do with 3 leg or 4 leg puller as two leg tend to bend and slip of job otherwise ok
