6 stars! Into the 'read again' pile (I've only 3 other series in that pile.)
As I said in my title, I have read these books many times now. I'm not one for re-reading, but there are a few series that just never get old. Just finished this book, now I'll reread it in less of a rush!I loved every moment of this book. Enjoyed the new characters, and more story about the lesser characters from previous books. My one request - not a criticism - I'd like more of Diana in the next book. I've missed her - she makes me laugh! On a deeper level, this book is so relevant right now to the world we live in. Refugees, war, prejudice, infighting and destruction of the natural world.POSSIBLE SPOILER:I loved how this book ended. I was hoping more would be made of this storyline. There have been little mentions here and there, but I wanted to know more.

The Demon Tide
I need more!! I need to know more!! I was so upset when I finished this, purely because I just did not want it to end. The ups and downs, the world building, the characters, all of it - I need more. This book is packed with action, Elloren and the gang continue to fight for what is right. The changing POV's helped developed the story, each character developing at their own rate, contributing their own relevant parts to the overral story. The whole series so far has been a delight to read.

Superb
Loved the interesting way the chapters visited each set of characters during the same span of time. Really gave it a fast pace feel when in fact it kept going over the same hour in their time.I thought this was a 4 book series but it can't be, well going it isn't and looking farad to book 5 🤞

Hard to read
I'm fully invested in this series which is why I'm continuing with it. At times I found this so difficult to read, various languages, ridiculous names, I ended up skim reading fair parts of it as it held little value to the storyline.

really enjoyed!
This is the 4th in what I think is perhaps a series of 5 and I’m loving it. There was more romance this time but that was okay and there was plenty of action!Anything can happen and I don’t want to spoil for anyone but I flit between team Yvan and team Lukas constantly! 😀

Elloren is useless and it’s getting boring
This book took me a longgggg time to finish. There’s so many sub characters and plot, a few of which I’m really enjoying and a few I could definitely do without. I’m really enjoying the OG group’s subplots and actually find myself dragging through Elloren’s parts until I can get an update on these newer more interesting stories. I LOVED Elloren in the first and second book but since the third onward it’s really starting to get tiring at how USELESS she is. She has good intentions but does nothing… constantly being saved by someone else. For someone who’s meant to be the most powerful mage in the kingdom I really hope the next book has her finally actually utilising her powers.

A book too many
This has been a fabulous series that has kept me enthralled through the first 3 books. Unfortunately, this one loses its way and descends into a great deal of self-indulgent Mills and Boon type repetition. The structure of the story and the world that Laurie has built are outstanding, but I found myself skim reading quite a lot of this edition in search of the sparse plot developments. I will be buying the next edition because I’m excited to find out what happens next, but I really hope to be spared the almost painful over elaboration on the relationship intricacies of the vast array of characters who inhabit this otherwise beautifully rendered world. Trees to the rescue? We shall hopefully see.

The media could not be loaded.

Another fantastic edition to this series
This book. Wow. The world building and the character building in this series is phenomenal. This story hooks you in from the first word, grabs you by the throat and keeps you captive until the last syllable. I was immersed in the images and the feelings that the story evoked and I was unable to put it down. This is book 4 is the Black Witch Chronicles and picks up where the last book left us. Elloren, the Black Witch of Prophecy, has been thrust through a portal by her fastmate, Lukas as they were attacked by agents of Vogel and his shadow wand. Just as Elloren is disgorged from the portal somewhere new, she feels Yvan’s, who is mated to her, Wyvern Fire reaching out to her and she now understands he was not killed. So the love triangle, which was/is my least favorite part in the series, is back. The forces of good, including Elloren and all her allies aligned against the evil forces of Vogel are finally congregating in the Eastern Realm. The pacing of this story was delicious. The tension slowly ratcheting up higher and higher then a beautiful calm hopefulness right before the crushing storm. The story includes what you’d expect from this genre - intrigue, fighting, dangerous situations, end of the world scenarios, paranormal creatures, evil masterminds, henchmen, loyal friends and family, tragic back stories, secrets, mystical coincidences, snark, laughs, soulmates, redemption, and so many plots twists. This book was told with more points of view and a lot more romance than the other books. While I appreciated learning what happened to the secondary characters from the other books, I would have preferred we stuck with the same POVs from the other books. It felt disjointed at times jumping from person to person. There is another cliffhanger ending and it is going to be hard to wait for the final book.

Amazing!
I had forgotten how much I LOVE these books!I love how Laurie spent time going over everyone’s story, each character we’ve come to love getting a little bit of love and time on the page. I didn’t feel like it took away from Elloren’s story - more like added to it as all of her friends and family fighting for her, and what is good and right.I know a lot of people will be upset over the outcome of the love triangle, but I really liked the way it played out.Ending was surprising and exciting to see what happens next!
