10pc Spot Weld Cutter CHT685

Made replacing my sills a breeze. Just a quick note, keep a file handy to sharpen the point periodically and use a decent heavy duty centre punch. The small automatic centre punches just don't do the job. The blades seem to last ages. I am still on the first side of the first blade and it is still going strong. I have done about 30 spot welds so far.

I read many reviews of similar products only to read they were burning out after too few welds, some even quoting a few as two. This tool is much better. I have removed 85 welds from the thick steel of a VW Beetle chassis where the metal is 3mm thick or 1/8" thick in old money. I've worn out only one side of one cutter and the other side of the reversible tool still has life left in it. 6 cutters are supplied with two cutting sides to each. This one realy does work!

Fantastic kit. Expensive but you do get alot for your money like any good tool.One warning though - I bought a kit 8month ago and the difference in the metal hole saws is obvious.I don't know if Clarke had a bad batch on my second purchase but the first set went through literally hundreds of welds no worries. The second set I went through three cutters on four welds... And that was on Rotten transit outrigger spots.Up your game Clarke - this is an awesome set but I will give the benefit of the doubt that the second set I bought was a one off...The saw on the left although shinier is just not as hard as the one on the right. I can only describe them as cheap in comparison. Was a let down to be honest.

I had approximately 220 spot welds to remove from the floor pan of an MGB GT. The Clarke spot weld cutter did the job extremely well. This was particularly pleasing as I had never attempted this type of work before. The point blunted but this was to be expected and there were two replacements. However I have not used one because the tip sharpened well using a grinder. A friend recommended this cutter to me and I would have no hesitation in recommending the cutter to others. It is being continuously on removing other spot welds on the MGB GT bodyshell.

I should of purchased one of these years ago, it makes the process of removing spot welded panels almost pleasurable lol, just removed a battery tray which had 16 of them in it, after drilling them all I gave it a wiggle and it was off wither no use of a hammer and chisel any where,I would highly recommend.

I don't write many reviews but this kit deserves it. I've drilled out around 30 welds now and the original cutter teeth are still good. Thoroughly recommended. Well packaged in a sturdy little box/tray.

Does the job but no instructions and can’t work out how to change the head on the drills

Great cutter, saved me so much time compared with a usual spot weld drill bit. Plenty of oil and a slow speed cuts in no time.
