Great desk
I bought the espresso color and seems more black but that is ok. Was pretty easy to put together but time consuming, follow the directions. Only part I got hung up on was the drawer sliders but they have a video and it's very clear. I did order some black screws for the back as I don't have it up against the wall and I don't want silver showing against the black. There is a small hole on both sides in the back for cables but they send covers for them so it looks better. I've read where people are complaining it's smaller than the picture, it's not a large office desk. Look at the measurements. I don't have a cpu but seems like one should fit just fine. I don't have any complaints about it at all.

Not bad, but not great either.
This desk looks nice, feels sturdy, and it wasn't too hard to assemble. That's about all the positive I can say. On the negative side, the color is darker than pictured. This is, for all intents and purposes, a black desk. The brown undertones are so muted as to be non-existent. Not a big deal for me, since I think it looks beautiful, but this could be a problem for someone who is dead set on color-matching to other furniture. Also, the unit is smaller than it appears in the picture. Height isn't bad, but width-wise it feels pretty cramped, and the drawers are miniscule. Other reviewers have said the pic looks photoshopped, and I don't know that I would go that far, but just for example I have a 10" netbook on the elevated "printer ledge" on the right-hand side of the desktop, and that little mini-computer takes up basically the entire space. There is no way that my actual printer would fit there. My other big complaint is that when the desk arrived, it was missing 4 essential screws but had 4 extra screws of a size I didn't need. This made it impossible to build the desk. The instruction booklet clearly stated to contact the manufacturer directly, not the seller, for replacement parts. It took over a week for the manufacturer (not Amazon) to ship the replacements. 4 little screws, and they couldn't be bothered to send them rapid delivery for a mistake that *they* made while packing the box.

Nice looking desk, very frustrating assembly.
First of all, I want to say that this is a very nice desk when it's assembled. It also feels pretty sturdy and durable. The wood is of average quality, and considering the price of the desk, it's a pretty good deal. The assembly of the desk is where the two stars come from. I work in construction/home repair, so putting things like this together is a pretty simple task. I always use my own tools, but try and use the hardware that comes with the product as often as I can. For this product, I had to use about 90% of my own hardware. The screws did not match the holes that were pre-drilled into the wooden pieces. I may be an isolated incident, (judging off of the other reviews I'm not) but if I were to force some of the screws into the allocated holes, I would have damaged the exterior of the wood by peeling away some of the charcoal colored film on the surface of the wood. I had to use a power drill because the little screwdriver that came with the desk was made out of a poor grade metal, that felt as soft as lead. I got the desk completely assembled in just over 1 1/2 hours, which I can't imagine how long it would take to use the tools and hardware that came with the desk.If you own a power drill and have your own hardware, I highly recommend this product for it is actually a nice desk that looks really good when assembled. If you don't own a power drill, then I hope you have a ton of patience and time, because you will probably need it.

Very nice desk, difficult assembly
This desk makes great use of the smallish amount of space that it takes up. I see a lot of complaints about it being too small, but this was not the case for me. Indeed, it may be difficult to fit a computer tower in the compartment designed to hold a desktop. However, my tower, which has a total of two CD drive bays, fits perfectly. My gaming PC, which has four drive bays, would not (which is fine because it was never planned to go in this desk). Also my 13 inch work laptop (which I connect to my monitor and full keyboard/mouse when home) comfortably fits in the compartment directly above my desktop. For me, this setup is fantastic. The two drawers are useful. And I didn't realize the scanner compartment slid out, but it does. I don't have a scanner there, so I can't comment on if one would fit, but it would probably be tight. The two surfaces on either side of the keyboard tray are fantastic for hiding away a game console or some other device.I didn't install the "printer stand." It certainly would never hold my Samsung laser printer and seemed like it would just make the surface of the desk less useful. Because I didn't install it, there are three predrilled holes on the surface of the desk that are actually hard to see and don't bother me at all.My biggest complaint and the reason I'm only giving four stars is construction was terrible. I've built many furniture pieces like this, but this one was uniquely frustrating. I have read other reviews saying that the pieces sometimes had misaligned predrilled holes. I experienced this a little, but I had something far worse. One of the panels that hold the drawers on my desk had NO PREDRILLED HOLES AT ALL. It was then a massive pain to drill my own holes based on where they were on the other side. I managed to do it, but apparently got the lower drawer a little off, so it is slightly harder to slide. It's not the end of the world, but it's annoying.Overall, however, I'm thrilled with this desk. As far as efficient use of space, for me, this is probably the best desk I could have gotten.
