Something different
Yep U2 have jumped on the recreate bandwagon.I think there is only one artist to do a great job of this and they were probably one of the first.Don’t know how many different colour vinyl albums were released but why soo many? Do they need the money?I wish they would release a good quality live album. It’s not bad but it’s not great.

Great Re-imagining of some Classic U2 Tracks
Originally listed to this when delay for a flight out of Heathrow, so impressed, I decided I needed the vinyl version, I ordered it there and then.Lovely orange vinyl, very good quality quiet (no clicks and pops) and dynamic pressing, if you're a U2 fan, you really should add this to your collection. Highly Recommend.

A good album with a t we ist to the songs.
Some of the songs, I think don't work, where others do. It because some of these songs are stadium songs and need to be played loud. I also find hard to hear the drum beat for many of the songs. But I still like all the songs, but we are use to the original versions.

Ordered Orange, received black
This 8s a must have for all U2 fans, even occasional ones. I don't like all of their music, and have lost interest since Rattle and Hum, but this is an interesting take on some if their better recent songs, as well as the classics from the early days. Recording quality is excellent, and quiet. My biggest gripe by far is that amazon shipped a std black vinyl copy, not the special edition orange that was ordered. It's a birthday gift, so can't really be returned unfortunately. So 0 stars for the Amazon warehouse staff on this occasion.

Not bad
The songs stand up on their own and the approach isn’t unwelcome. Call it U2 “unplugged”. The snag, occasionally, is Bono’s voice is at times strained and off key. This fact doesn’t spoil it entirely but it’s not entirely welcome. If the songs were average this would be a considerable issue. Is it worth buying. I’d say yes, it’s a more relaxed take on some great songs. Look at it as a set of interpretations which suit a glass of contemplative whisky or a quiet beer. If you want to kick off your shoes and get dancing go back to the originals. Is it a classic set of recordings which will go down in U2 history as essential - no. Three stars for the overall package. If Bono’s voice had been on point all the way through I would have stretched it to four. Surprised he wasn’t encouraged to have another go on some of the tracks but maybe nobody dared, which means he should actively invite some constructive criticism and be humble enough to accept it and take action.

Songs Of Stifled Creativity
An abysmal collection of re-imagined tracks thrown together and shafted onto a glossy orange vinyl. That about sums it up. I’m extremely disappointing that only 16 of the 40 new recordings made the vinyl cut. This would have been a perfect birthday present for my late father who was obsessed with U2 but after seeing that most of the best tracks (Beautiful Day, With Or Without You, Stuck In a Moment & Miracle Drug) have been cut from this iteration, I’m glad I never bothered as it seems like U2 haven’t bothered either. Even if they released this album in 2 halves with the first 20 in one set and the final 20 in the second I would have been happy but £40 for not even half of the material just isn’t worth purchasing. 2 stars for trying since the acoustic versions make a nice alternative to the originals but this is a B-side to a greatest hits collection at best and definitely should not be considered the main event.
