The Monster Book of Manga: Fairies and Magical Creatures: Draw Like the Experts

I purchased this book for a friends daughter for Christmas. She loves to draw and enjoys drawing animé characters so I thought this would be perfect for her, and something a little more advanced that she can grow into. Once I received it, I thumbed through it to see what it was like. I loved what I saw so much, that I decided to order a second one for myself.I'm not a professional artist at all. I simply enjoying drawing when the mood strikes me. I don't draw from basic forms, like this book gives as step by step instructions, I draw from the finished product. In this case, I chose either the final pencil sketch or the colored version for my drawing. I read that some reviewers didn't feel it gave enough detail and instruction, but I didn't need it. I love it and might order the other books in the series some day in the future.

The media could not be loaded.  I have this book before and someone stole it and I never say it again and didn't remember the book until one day go though amazon I saw it!! I brought this book with no hesitation. I love to have whole set of them!! I think they help. Also I love graphic design and at the end of each drawing there is a graphic design spot too!!

Another book that was pretty good for inspiration for a artist that is already familiar with drawing figures and clothing. Personally wouldn't say this is a book for beginners, however it's still good for collection sake of drawing books.+ From a great series of books+ Good for inspiring an artist+ Pretty diverse in pose+ Great for collection sake, if you just like art books- Not really a book for beginners that are barely starting off

In really good condition. Front slightly bent and otherwise there is nearly no damage. For a book that runs close to $50 brand new and is the most detailed and advanced of this series, it was a steal.

Yes it is a large book, but every character type takes 5-8 pages each. Leaves much to be desired in terms of instruction. Seems like it purposely neglects to teach or share certain steps in the process.

I recently decided to live out my nerd fanaties and practice drawing mythical/ magical creatures and bought this book. I am very happy I did. It's quite intuitive and easy to pick up, it shows you every step to get to the final masterpiece.If you enjoy drawing and want to learn how to draw new creatures I would recommend this book.

Prior to getting this one, "Girls", and "Boys", I had two books from Ikari Studio. Now I have more in my arsenal of improving my drawing. This is, and other books by Ikari Studio, are must haves for those who love to draw anime and manga style!

Unfortunately the Prison refused to let my son have the book. I have it here at my home awaiting his arrival back home.

I bought this as a present for my Grandson who loves all things Japanese and enjoys sketching. It is a good book to practice with and improve drawing skills. The characters are enchanting and a joy to follow. I would certainly recommend this book to anyone keen to improve on their Manga characters.

Yet another monster book to become well used and the images followed and recreated over and over again. Can't wait to see the final pieces.

Other than gorgeous artwork the step by step is sometimes easy to follow, although if you are looking for a challenge or just looking for ideas there is more than enough to satisfy in this book.It is a great buy if this is the sort of thing that you like or are just looking for some drawings to look at.I definitely recomend this to those who love manga or anime!
