Liked cushion, toe box, color. Had to go up half size.

Fits the size indicated, is extremely comfortable, and keeps feet dryer than I expected. Beautifully tailored and easy to clean /wash. I would love to have a second pair and I wish my dress shoes were as comfortable

I love these sneakers. I have very hard to fit feet, high arches and wide across the instep. When I first got these I noticed similar things as other reviewers, surprised at how my toes touched in a 10.5. However, I think this is due to the neoprene padding in the heal. I laced up the last hole, which helped to keep my foot far enough back that the toes touching weren’t really an issue. But the laces are too short to really tie a bow with them laced this way. After my first trial walk I decided to try putting my arch insoles in, since one of my arches was getting crampy. I thought they’d be too small with the insoles, but to my delight I was able to add my arch supports under the altra insole, and it fixed the fit problem altogether. It helps to keep my heel in the right position without having to lace the last hole, so now they are just right. My favorite part (asides from all the other great things like the vibrant red color and the cushiony ride) is the super grippy vibram sole. Here in the PNW, this comes in very useful where the sidewalks are sometimes slippery from moss, and even walking from the wet outdoors into a store, these shoes STICK.

My Olympus 5 size 7 felt stiff and rigid so I was worried and wondered if I ordered the wrong shoes. I heard about Altra shoes which have a wide toe and I was very happy with my Torin 5 for about a year. However, the Torin 5 did not give me much support on dirt trails since I could feel the bumps on the trails. I ordered the Lone Peak 6 shoes, only to return them after getting blisters after wearing the shoes only once. I have bunions so I need a wide toe. I decided to Altra Olympus 5 a try. On my 3rd time wearing the shoes, I definitely felt the shoes were more comfortable but they feel tight around the middle of my foot. However, I like the grip and gives me really good support on dirt trails. I’m hoping that the shoes will get more comfortable after I break into them in coming weeks. I will continue to wear them and stay open minded.

I bought the all white version of ALTRA Olympus 5 Trail. If they had two Velcro straps instead of laces, they would look almost identical to the shoes my grandfather wore in his later years to help with diabetic circulation. Worse yet, they don’t have the same foot shape my previous Altras did. I’ve had over 15 pairs of ALTRA sneakers and have had several different models. They are slightly more narrow - and just enough so that they don’t feel good to me. Worse yet, the last 2 pairs of Torin 6 sneakers I got have something poking me in the exact same spot on the side, and just before, the ball of my left foot. I actually went to the doctor for it (I thought it was some kind of growth) but was diagnosed with a callus caused by my ALTRA Torin sneakers. I stopped wearing my Torins and planned to replace them with Olympus, but both Olympus 4 and 5 produce the same feeling on the side of my left foot. The cushioning is tremendous, but that was these sneakers’ only major compliment. The Olympus 5 Trail is definitely a no-go for me.

The fit is perfect, and the colors are flashy. So many compliments!

This shoe runs very small. There is plenty of room in the toe box, but they are very short. Had to return and size up. They have plenty of cushion and some arch support, but the overall quality is not as good as expected for the price and hype. Very curious to see how they hold up.

I bought a pair of these shoes to walk the Camino from Sarria to Santiago. It rained the whole time I walked. These shoes held up well & they stayed dry. They grip really well and they have a wide toe box so that you have enough room for your toes. I didn’t get any blisters or bruised toes. My only complaint is that the shoe strings are too short. That didn’t stop me from ordering another pair of them. I really love these shoes for walking!

Habe die Schuhe noch ganz frisch und bin vom ersten Eindruck absolut begeistert!Man muss wissen, dass meine Füße so ziemlich alle Probleme haben, die es gibt. 🙈Senk-/Spreizfüße, breit, Hallux valgus beidseitig, Schmerzen durch chronische Entzündung im Mittelfuß. Ich bin vor einigen Jahren fast komplett auf Barfußschuhe umgestiegen, da ich damit keine Schmerzen durch den Hallux v. habe und die Breite eben auch passt.Mittlerweile habe ich immer mal wieder Rückenschmerzen (Ischias), so dass einfach manchmal eine bessere Dämpfung her muss bei längeren Strecken (wobei ich nie wirklich lang gehe).“ Dafür gehe ich bislang in Adidas-Sneakers, die auch recht gemütlich sind oder Joe Nimble (Trail addict).Beim Scrollen bin ich auf Altra gestoßen und habe mich informiert, was es da alles so gibt. Es sind letztendlich dann die Olympus 5 geworden. (Die Timp 4 hatte ich auch in der engeren Auswahl.)Schon beim ersten Hineinschlüpfen fühlte es sich toll an. Alles weich, gemütlich und halt eben verrückt stark gedämpft. Optisch muss man sich dann eben damit abfinden, dass es etwas bulliger aussieht. Wer aber Fußprobleme und -schmerzen kennt, dem wird das wie mir egal sein. Hauptsache nix tut weh, und das scheint in den Altras der Fall zu sein.Ich hoffe nun, dass sich mein erster Eindruck in der nächsten Zeit bestätigt und ich die Rezension nicht noch ändern muss.Bisher würde ich die Schuhe für Fußgeplagte auf jeden Fall empfehlen.Update: Die Schuhe halten, was sie versprechen und sind einfach genial. Bin jetzt drei Tage unterwegs und immer zwischen 8 und 12 km gegangen. War barfuß in den Schuhen unterwegs und auf verschiedenen Terrains. Keine Blasen, nichts scheuert, die Zehen können sich prima ausbreiten. Es gibt nichts, aber auch gar nichts zu bemängeln. Suche schon nach dem nächsten Paar Altras in dunkler.

ho le AL0A548E Lone Peak 6 e il grip non mi è mai piaciuto, ma la scarpa è fantastica. Ho voluto provare questo modello Olymus 5....fantastiche! Soddisfatta della scelta, non scivolano, buona presa su roccia, scarpa abbastanza rigida ma leggera, ottima per il trekking, treil ecc....

Erst als ich die Innensohle (zu hart) gegen eine Gelsohle getauscht habe sind die Schuhe nun in Kombi mit Wandersocken mit Merinowolle nicht zu toppen! Eingelaufen mit 20 km und 1 Woche später 35 km keine Blasen!
