Sharpens knives well but practice on on old knife before a really expensive knife. It has a good motor and slots to sharpen each side of the blade. I made a big indent in my knife blade next to the handle by not moving it quickly enough and putting too much pressure. It sharpens the blades quickly and gets them very sharp. I test the sharpness by One very light cut on a tomatoe to cut the skin. I also cuts into the edge of a sheet paper all of the knives I sharpened passed the test. I only used it about every 4 months - when it takes more than one cut on the tomato skin. I highly recommend this sharpener and would buy again.

I have some kitchen knives 2 steel and 3 ceramic from costco. The ceramics are 10+ years old, This sharpener fixed them all up, slicing vegetables has never been easier, I have a stone sharpener system for pocket knives, but it was a pain to try to use it on big kitchen knives.

Like this thing. Gets the knives sharp. They don't stay sharp for long though because the bevel is practically non-existent.

It's easy to use, and there appears to be a magnet in the collection area to old the shavings. This was a well thought out product and the overall sound is much better than I expected. I cringe when my husband sharpens our knives with the manual sharpener, but I didn't mind when he used this electric knife sharpener to sharpen all of our knives (ff to the end of our video to hear the sound). The color is an added plus. It's a lovely shade of blue, almost a cobalt, that complements our pottery and looks nice when it's left out on the counter. The cord is approximately 4 feet long which is useful when you have limited power outlets in your kitchen.
