Good to have in your arsenal if you need it
Was finally able to use this today. A little trial and error but works best at a slower speed with a high clutch. If you try to go faster, it can catch and make a divot in the pipe. You can't use on Schedule 80 grey pipe which was my problem on my first attempt to use it.

Works flawlessly with the right drill
This tool works extremely well, it paid for itself on the first use. You MUST have a high quality drill with a lot of torque or it will stall. For context, I tried it with a brushless Ryobi and it was difficult and constantly stalled, but with a brushless Milwaukee hammer drill it went right through the fitting with no problems. I would guess that any modern corded drill will let this tool eat with no problems. Torque is everything with this cutting tool. The carbide insert is high quality and hasnโt shown any signs of dulling.

It worked, but not as fast as I expected.
Didnโt work as fast as Iโd have hoped, but did the job. Lots of elbow grease required. Not sure if cutters could be sharper or if pvc is that hard to cut out. Saved me from having to replace a lot more pvc piping on my pool filter.

Should Be In Every Home Plumbers Toolbox
So this is a life saver. We broke a vent pipe (1.5" pvc) and since it was just a vent I thought maybe I could put a sleeve on it or coupler or something. I talked to a plumber friend and he mentioned this tool was a thing I should use for a proper fix. The price point (under $20 when I purchased) made it absolutely worthwhile. The break we had wasn't a clean one so i did use a oscillating multi-tool to trim it flush first, and then used this tool to ream it out. It worked in maybe 25 seconds or so. Smooth, clean, etc. Put a towel or rag down the pipe first to make sure you're not filling it in with plastic as you go. The repair was extremely easy and the fit was perfect. I did go and try it again on a drain pipe we had that we wanted to replace and it was the same experience, solid all the way around. No leak.

A ream come true
Worked very well to re-use a 1.5" elbow in the wall without tearing into the drywall. I ran the drill at low speed, constantly checking to make sure I was perpendicular (though I think the smaller diameter guide is long enough to prevent the drill from skewing too much), and even though I'd taped a depth mark on the cutter, I could feel it break through the old pipe and glue just before I reached that mark. The reamer did bind a couple of times but low speed helped with that, and it was not a problem over all. In the photo of the reamed elbow, I hadn't yet cleaned out the debris--what looks like a step where the reamer stopped is actually a loose ring that was the very end of the pipe where glue hadn't reached in the old joint, and it popped right out when I cleaned up the plastic shavings, leaving the bevel of the original fitting showing clean. I haven't used the 2" adapter, but it all looks well made, and the included hex wrenches do not have excessive play in the bolts that I could reach (not the one that secures the movable tool steel holder for the carbide cutter). I do wish there were some protective padding for the carbide cutter; I ended up cutting the bubble pack envelope the box came in to make a smaller padded sleeve for the cutter that still fits in the box, which will isolate the brittle cutter from drops or just jostling in a tool drawer.

Does exactly what itโs designed to do!
I bought this because I had to replace the plumbing on two sinks, and the 1-1/2โ drain lines had already be cut and rejoined with a union at the wall, and this was my only option other than cutting the wall open. Setup- other reviews mention doing a practice bore on a test piece. Thatโs not wrong- But thatโs not what I did. I went for it, then test fit a cut off length of 1-1/2 pipe into the now bored onion. It was too tight of a fit. I adjusted the cutting slightly and tried again, doing that twice to sneak up on a snug fit. Perfect. The cutting action is very smooth considering there is only one cutting surface. I was very surprised with how effortlessly this bored out the old pipe from the union. Several reviews mention that the shank on this bit doesnโt fit their drill, and I have a plausible explanation for that. This in fact does fit standard drills with variable chucks. But it would not work with 1/4โ hex impact drivers. So my educated guess is that folks donโt understand the difference between a drill and a driver. My dewalt 20v drill had no issue making quick work of both the unions I needed to sort out. All in all, I consider this purchase money well spent, and would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to save their plumbing!

Quality control
Seems like a decent design but poor quality control. Screws were rusted right out of the box partially seized so not impressed about that but I'll be using it later today to test the function. I will update review if I have any issues but otherwise it will mean it works as intended. Review from a licensed plumber with over 12 years experience

it delivers
Now this get a great review. Its really well made and the design for facilitating 2 pipe sized is excellent. Very easy to use and does a quick clean job. Perfect for those repairs where it's not feasible or ;possible to replace a coupling.

Cutting edge dulls after a single fitting
This gadget is a life saver if you absolutely don't want to replace a fitting (like a tee on a plumbing stack, or a fitting coming out of concrete), but buyers should anticipate being able to drill only a few fittings before having to attempt to sharpen the cutting edge. It's also worth noting that the process to switch between the setup for 1.5" and 2" is tedious, so a person planning to drill several of each size might be happier with a kit containing multiple cutting heads. If you just have one specific fitting you desperately want to save, this can do it. If the cutter wasn't so cheap, it'd be a 5 star device. (Just think of how long a decent reciprocating saw blade, hole saw, drill bit, or chisel lasts by comparison).

Saved me time and money
When my hot tub developed a leak at the hose connection to the filter housing I thought that I'd have to replace the whole filter housing, a difficult and expensive job! I watched a few YouTube videos on reaming out the connecting hose to save the filter housing. I could have purchased the cheaper version of this tool and save myself 20 bucks, but I've worked with tools all my life and I wasn't prepared to risk damaging the filter housing if the cheaper tool went off center and opened the hole too much. This tool is professional, easy to use, just keep it square to the fitting and go slow, a bit at a time. Even if this is a one time use for me, I have no regrets.
