Pleased I bought them
Pretty good, I really like it. Its easy to set up, comfortable to wear and the sound quality is what you might expect of Sony. I'm pleased I bought them!

Amazing sound. Design, not so much. (But buy them anyway!)
Before I get into what has irked me about these headphones I'll comment about the most important thing - the sound. It's pretty spectacular. If sound quality matters to you above everything else (and it should) go buy these now, you really won't regret it. Nothing I tested came close to them. I do have some issues with the design though (such as the plastic neckband) so read on if you want the complete picture... REVIEW I tested numerous headphones before settling on these. The highly acclaimed Sony MDR-XB950B1s, AKG Y50BTs, Jaybird X3's and BeatsX; they all have followings and fans but the h.700's easily beat all of them in terms of sound quality. I think this is in no insignificant part thanks to the DSP technology Sony have packed into these earphones, and which you unlock via the Sony 'Headphones Connect' app - we finally get Sony's renowned Clearbass and EQ tech on our iPhones, whoo hoo! Being able to customise sound to your taste is a huge deal. Don't bother buying headphones that don't allow you to because sound is very subjective and everyone has different tastes and preferences, there simply isn't a right or wrong. You like what you like and good headphones should adjust to YOU, not the other way around. Thankfully, the Sony h.700's do :-) I found the highs and mids are crisp and clear without being harsh or overpowering, and the bass, thanks to the Clearbass tech, is as prominent as you want while always being controlled and tight. It's like having a nice subwoofer in your headset (if that's what you want!). All in all the sound is amazing, and I doubt you'll find anything as good in the same £149 price range. So on sound they get full marks. However it's not all plain sailing. Sony seriously messed up on some design choices, here are my gripes: - The neck-band. Why Sony WHY? Why didn't you go for a softer rubber-type neckband like the BeatsX? You can easily fit those into your backback, pocket, or even fall asleep with them on - but the h.700's may well end up snapping in the same situation. One of the great benefits of having earbuds is that they are much more portable, yet you gave us a solid frame that is similar to more traditional bulky headphones. Why!? I hate the neckband, but I'll (begrudgingly) live with it because of the sound - it just needn't have been an issue. - The flashing light. Why not just have a very dim 'on' light? Like the BeatsX! I find the flashing light too bright at night time, it's very distracting. I much prefer what Apple did with the BeatsX - it's just much nicer. - No quick charge. Again (and sorry to keep referring to them) but the BeatsX have a quick 5 minute charge that gives you two hours of use. They also only take 45 minutes for a full charge. This is incredibly handy because how many of us forget to charge things? Quick 5 minute charge and you're ready for the gym! The Sony's take two and a half hours to fully charge (with no quick charge facility). - Lifting the lid to charge. This is just an inconvenience that becomes irritating after a while. Again the BeatsX's simple plug in wins here (although it could be improved with a rubber/weather seal). - Water resistance. The plastic 'buttons' don't seem very good for protection from rain/water/accidents. - No magnetic backs on the ear buds. The small ones on the wires are not as good as those on the BeatsX. CONCLUSION These are the best sounding headphones that I tested in this price range - and that's why I'm keeping them. If that's what matters to you (and it should!) then get these. You won't regret it. Sony are lucky that the BeatsX don't have an app that lets you customise sound (because via an EQ app they actually sound pretty good). If they had such an app, I think manu people might save the extra £50 and opt for those because the product design is so much better; they have none of the negatives above. So the Sony h.700's are king... but this could have very easily not been the case. Sony, I hope you're listening. Start working with customers and start making products that will sell themselves. ==Additional notes== I'm having some minor issues with sound at high volumes. It appears that some kind of normalisation is taking place, so when some songs are being listened to at high levels some parts are louder than others in different sections (the quiet sections). However most people won't listen to sound at this level and it only happens on some tracks.

Compatibility issue with galaxy phones.
As others said, they sound great. Perfect balance of bass, mids and highs. Design is also good, they look much better than in the picture. ONE BIG ISSUE. As other reviewer said the call quality is horrendous. I'm returning my purchase and the replacement because of this. The microphone input is really scambled and distorted even when recording to the device. I have tried all codecs and settings, must be a compatibility issue with galaxy s 9 plus or android oreo. A damn shame as they sond better than my sennheisers....

You get what you pay for
UPDATE2: The second pair have now failed *identically* to the first. The power button (least used) becomes unresponsive and/or triggers itself. Now, after a full charge and an attempt to reset to factory defaults they ill not come on at all - but the LED still shows power when plugged in to charge. Downgraded review to 2 stars as when they work, they work well, but they can't cope with just a few months general use. UPDATE: One month in and the headphones have failed. The buttons stopped responding properly and the unit would not power off until disconnected from BT. Further factory resets and fiddling showed the buttons to be OK but the "logic" of how they worked when paired to a device was going wrong. Returning to Amazon (who make this difficult after one month, but if you know how to contact Customer Service they will take them back) and have re-ordered the same model (now cheaper) in the hope they work better and this is a one off fault. I've had these headphones for a week and used them for maybe 5 hours so I can't fairly comment on battery life beyond noting that the indicator in Android seems to go from 100% to 50% without any in-between levels. The sound is however something else for these "sports" earbuds. These Sonys sound *clean*, *clear* and have comfortable and realistic bass. I regularly use their over-ear MDR-1ABT model and there is definitely a family resemblance within the constraints of basic physics and driver size. I also have Westone 4r earbuds - but can't use those wirelessly very well and Nuraphones - both "better" in their own way but not so much so that I feel left out or that I'm downgrading when using these. I've been through a whole slew of them recently having bought the now discontinued Leophile Eels which stopped charging after a year but were otherwise OK to some cheap Skullcandy ones where the Bluetooth range was about 30cm and they stopped charging after a week to the truly terrible sounding TaoTronics ones. Pay more, get more.

Nearly very good but expensive.
I use this to hear music in bed before going to sleep. The first problem is charging the battery. You are told you need to use a computer USB port. If that was the case it would be useless. In my house the computer is downstairs the headphones are in the bedroom. Luckily the cable fits into an apple charger. But it is fiddly to attach the supplied cable to the headphones. Sound quality is great. At least as good as the non-wireless Bose. Much better than the apple phones. Using the controls to turn off the headphones is a fiddle so the 7 hours of battery life isn’t particularly useful. I recharge every two days, but the battery doesn’t do a whole night so I have to turn it off before I sleep rather than being able to disconnect automatically after say an hour or at the end of a cd. This doesn’t quite live up to my expectations and is thus a bit pricey.
