This kit is great. Way cheaper than other brands and even includes tools. It was a bit crumbly and dry just out of the bag...did not deter my kid...and my husband...from playing with it. I ended up googling it and found out that if you add some water by getting your hands wet and then playing with the sand the texture would improve. It sure did-just like the name brand - perfect.

I bought two of these Kinetic Sand kits, one for my 6 yr. old grandson & one for my 4 yr. old grandson. Both children truly enjoyed using the molds to create everything from sandcastles to blue snowmen. The ability to put everything back and start over with new creations the next day allows for many hours of play at a low cost.

This sand is very moldable and fun! It is a crumbly, powdered texture compared to Kinetic sand so not really compatible with the sand itself. The tools and molds work though. This still is a very fun product!As for mess, it can get messy. As it's not as sticky I guess, it can be harder to clean up. My toddler loves this in her sensory bin though, we will play for a long time making and destroying things!

Feels like kinectic sand definitely have to knead it before play because it's really hard in the bag all together my sons favorite thing.

This stuff was kind of a disaster, nothing like the original kinetic sand we purchased previously. First, upon opening it was dry and crumbly, not the right texture at all. I looked online and saw that you can add some water, so I gave it a few spritzes and mixed in, which helped. Unfortunately, I don’t know if it was the water or just the nature of the product dye but it turned everything blue. The original sand will brush right off your hands, and is easy to clean up by collecting the crumbs with a little ball of sand. not this brand. I’m afraid that the play mat we used it on and the plastic plates I (tried to use) to contain it will be permanently blue. Not with the savings. 2 star because we like the toys that came with it.

I wanted to love this for the price, but the blue color stained everything it touched! My son's hands, clothes, even the vinyl table cloth. It was sticky and not the same feeling of name brand kinetic sand. I saw a few reviews that said to add a few tablespoons of water to help loosen it up, and that did improve the weird dry texture a bit. I suppose if you got the natural kind with no added color it might be ok for play sand, but it is definitely more messy than kinetic sand. I returned for a refund, would recommend spending a few dollars more for the name brand.

I like that it comes in the box with the sand tools, but it's not "melty" like the original. It's kind of hard and bigger grit, I almost wanna add water or something to make it softer. Its not soft and fluffy like the OG sand but it's moldable and comes out of the molds decently.
