The filter arrived and was in perfect condition. The setup was very simple and easy. The only thing I added to what was in the box was some wire ties to hold the piping on the faucet and out of the way of the sink. The filter was a simple take out of shipping bubble wrap, put on the o-ring gasket and screw into the filer housing. The next step was screwing on the outer filter housing and hand tightening. Then unscrew the aerator from the faucet and screw on the diverter/aerator and wire tie the hose to the faucet.Turn the diverter to route water to the filter, place the filter upside down in the sink and just barely turn on the water and wait a moment or two for the unit to fill and expel air. Once water starts coming out set the filter upright and let it run to waste for 10 minutes. And at that point the filter is ready to provide filtered water.The UltraCarb filters are a step up in filtering ability from the counter-top gravity type filters. This unit produced very good drinking water from out sink. Our water without the filter is not bad but has a strong chlorine smell and taste. With the filter the water is very good, equal to RO water from our RO system. The best part is that the cost and maintenance of this model is MUCH cheaper than the RO system.But I also recognize that this filter may not take out all the bad taste from some water systems so it is really something you will have to try. A friend with very mineral rich well water cant use this system as it doesn't remove enough of the taste in his well water. So be aware of that before buying one for your situation.There is also a double element version of this filter which could be loaded with the Ultra Carb filter and an activated Charcoal filter and that setup would remove significantly more of the bad taste from high mineral water. Sometimes though the only system that will produce the results your after is either a distillation or RO system.I would say for a majority of people this countertop filter system will produce very good results. It is also made as an under counter system as well if you don't have the counter space or don't want the diverter valve and piping above counter.I know for a fact that the Doulton filters are the best performing filters on the market, vastly superior to those sold by Berkey USA.

This one does (as does Crystal Quest's shower filter).Bottom line: the water tastes great, and tests very clean.I'm honestly surprised by the two very negative reviews. My experience has been unequivocally positive. Doulton's a tad more expensive, but IMHO very much worth the premium.

With this product, which was simple to install, I now enjoy drinking tap water. Coffee and tea taste much better. I use filtered water for washing veggies and fruit, for cooking, etc. Switching to unfiltered tap water is easy, for washing dishes, and other cleaning purposes.Also, my brother's tropical fish love it. He was unable to find any commercially available water that does not shock them when he refills the tank after cleaning. He had tried bottled water, distilled, filtered, purified, and spring water, all to no avail. Then he tried some of my filtered water to fill the tank after cleaning, and the fish were able to quickly adapt without demonstrating the behavior of shock that happens with tap water or commercial bottled water..

There are a lot of filters out there......but few are actually good. Most are OK for removing large particles.....this one is actually good and removes a lot of stuff. I think it's a good investment, drink water, don't waste your money in bottled water.Water tastes much better, at least where I live now.

This is the best thing since sliced bread. We have well water and this filter works great. Just remember to clean the filter when it begins to run a little slow. The filter will last for months to years with monthly cleaning. Great buy.

This water filter is ok. It provides clean water in my kitchen.The process of filtration is ok, but you need to clean the candle somewhat frequently to insure best results.I recommend this unit.

Filtra muy bien y al ser portátil, es perfecto para vivienda d alquiler. El adaptador q trae, se ajusta perfectamente con el grifo de casa (hay que quitar antes el atomizador y la junta de goma de éste para poder poner luego el adaptador) . El único inconveniente, por eso le pongo sólo 3 estrellas, es porque cuando se bebe agua tras 3 o 4 horas sin usar, ésta tiene algo de sabor raro, posiblemente por el material de la vela filtrante,será cuestión de acostumbrarnos a ese sabor no tan agradable.Después de unos meses, ya no da sabor raro salvo q esté muchas horas sin funcionamiento y el sabor es casi nulo en ese caso, así q le subo a 5 estrellas. Estoy muy contento con el filtro, es una maravilla, el agua está buenísima y además, la atención al cliente es muy buena.

Bought this as a present. Unfortunately the Tap fitting appears not standard in uk. Been to hardware store looking for tap adaptors for tap without a thread, unfortunately nobody can help.so stick with a filter I can't connect and rang Doulton but they are not helpful. Shame really as seemed a good idea..

Hacia tiempo que buscaba un filtro de este tipo, de cartucho ceramico. Estaba arto de tener que cambiar los del tipo Brita cada 2 por 3, y ademas no me convencia del todo la Brita. Este filtro tiene un nucleo de filtro ceramico, lo enchufas al grifo y siempre que quieres sale el agua freco, filtrado al instante. Al de un par de meses se abre, se limpia el filtro, y listo, sigues usandolo. Un sistema muy bueno y que funciona. Solamente hay que probar el agua del grifo y luego enseguida el agua del filtro para ver que gran diferenia. Muy recomendable
