Product Description Keanu Reeves stars as Tom Ludlow, a veteran LAPD cop who finds life difficult to navigate after the death of his wife. When evidence implicates him in the execution of a fellow officer, he is forced to go up against the cop culture he's been a part of his entire career, ultimately leading him to question the loyalties of everyone around him. .com Street Kings is a pungent bouquet of corruption, violence, multi-ethnic mayhem, macho glee laced with macho angst, and fluorescently obscene dialogue from the mind of James Ellroy. Its hero, though he'd scarcely consent to be called one, is L.A. police detective Tom Ludlow (Keanu Reeves), for whom life is a wound that won't heal and dealing out retribution to scumbags is the ongoing treatment. Ludlow's the star player--"the tip of the [expletive] spear"--on a team of detectives headed by Capt. Jack Wander (Forest Whitaker). Coach Wander relies on his boys to keep breaking lurid cases, usually through deeply darkside underground work, and raising his profile with the media and the department. In pursuit of these goals, nothing is forbidden except failure, and the truth is what you make it look like. This is familiar Ellroy territory, most effectively translated to the screen in L.A. Confidential (which should have won the 1997 Oscar, and would have if Titanic hadn't launched that year). If you know Ellroy's ground game, you can pretty much guess where Street Kings is going, and where it's been. Still, the twists and torques of its urban road-rage course maintain the centrifugal force needed to hold us in our seats (a tactical highlight: refrigerator adapted as rolling barricade), and the movie keeps bopping us with oddball casting coups: comic Jay Mohr and Northern Exposure/Sex and the City veteran John Corbett as two members of Coach Warden's gonzo detective squad; Cedric the Entertainer doing a nicely nuanced turn as a street creature; Hugh Laurie doing a less-hyper version of House, if House worked Internal Affairs. The problem is that director David Ayer keeps everything intense. Dialogues are shot too close-up, line readings are too strident, the action is too nonstop slam. Recall Curtis Hanson's L.A. Confidential and the mind's eye summons up a whole spectrum of existence, mood, place, historical period, emotional investment; there's an amplitude to the picture and the sensibility bringing it to us, something besides the whodunit and the endless rap sheet of nasty what-they-done. Everything in Street Kings is one-note, and with Keanu Reeves playing it implosive and Forest Whitaker locked in crazier-than-an-outhouse-rat mode, that's no way to stay the course. --Richard T. Plot line is pretty predictable; but fun to watch.
I must for say I am probably being bias; because I am a huge Keanu Reeves fan. This is not a award winning movie by any stretch of the imagination; however, if you are looking for something cool to sit and watch while doing some side work this is one of these movies.

What a ride
Synopsis: Neo beats a man with a phone book while Captain America watches. Then they harass Cedric the Entertainer for information so Neo can redeem himself. 4/5 Because Neo didn’t even bother to say “Guns lots of Guns”.

Street Kings is a truly awesome movie.
We enjoyed every moment of this movie. The complexities of police work were brought to the forefront in this movie. Putting on a weapon to go to work every single day, underpaid, over-worked and oftentimes despised. An action police drama worth seeing. Glad we bought it.

Street Kings
A good movie if you like corrupt cops. Good performances by the main cast, Reeves, Evans and Whittaker, but lacked flow for my liking.

Been wanting this movie back since I loaned it out & never got it back.
This is a great movie (to me) that has Keanu Reeves along with a great ensemble cast that make this police thriller worth watching...The package arrived a few days early than I expected & when i opened it up it was properly sealed with the usual thin plastic covering that has been wrapped around it that you have to tear off to open the case that the DVD movie is inside...To be honest I wasn't sure what to expect with regards to it being New or Pre-owned as I too busy doing the usual ordering for the Festive Season & I completely forgot if I ordered a new copy of this film or a pre-owned one & I was glad once i opened up the cardboard package it's delivered in I & I saw the plastic covering & sealing the product inside & that it was in fact new...At times when one buys some pre-owned films or game's they aren't always in the condition as they were described & hence why I prefer to buy new copies if I can get them on Amazon...Well all have our own opinions of what we like & what I like in a movie others may not but I honestly enjoyed this movie as Keanu isn't playing his usual straight good guy or bad guy as there are grey areas with the character he plays in " Street Kings "Along with the always great Forest Whitaker & a great ensemble cast made this a movie I wanted to own rather than borrow from a friend & its in my Always To Watch Movies , after a certain time has passed since my last viewing...I definitely recommend the order & how it was delivered to me & I'd recommend that those who haven't watched this movie to give it a watch as you might be pleasantly surprised by this movies as its one of those movies that seem to go under the radar at the cinema but has done well on DVD & Blu Ray...Now to pick up my favourite snack of a sub sandwich/a packet of tangy cheese dorito's/ a few chocolate bars & some soft drinks before I sit down to enjoy this movie again........

Isn't a bad movie..
This isn't a great movie, but it isn't bad...OK... A good cast, and well directed too, but that's notthe important thing about this film...While watching this, it reminded of LA Confidential, andas the credits rolled, there was James Ellroy's name aswriter... There is a saying in Hollywood that says, "youcan't make a good film from a bad script"... and the scriptis the best thing in this movie, the plot points and twistscome as a surprise. If the story is a bit too by-the-numbers,it works... Of course Keanu Reeves, acts as stiff as a surfbroad, but the script moves too fast to notice... Over all,not a bad movie...

The thin line between good and bad
In this one the thin line between good cop and bad cop kind of disappears. You don't know wether to agree with what is going on or not. I was torn for the most part of it. But then I think we don't have the same approach to the police force as Americans have. So it's rather difficult to understand and follow.Nevertheless I liked the acting especially since I'm a huge fan of Whitaker and Reeves. Both appear to behave naturally and genuine. As the story unfolds you are absolutly torn between sympathy and anger for what both of them do.I think this is another great Ayer movie. One star I draw for it's length which is always a problem with his movies.

Street Kings a great movie with a great story and actors
Street Kings is a great movie. It shows how work is done in the police department/Detectives and how corruption and greed can get to anybody. Very hard truths in this movie. Is very well done and with great actors. Very violent and with a few bloody shootings.I really enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. Street Kings deserves more credit. On Blu Ray picture quality looks very nice. Own it on dvd as well and you can easily tell the difference. Great movie just get it.
