Great lights
The media could not be loaded. Debated for a few weeks with myself as to whether I should invest in these lights. Would they work as advertised, would I find the changing lights distracting, would I find the camera on top of the tv intrusive, will it really make that much difference to watching movies and gaming compared to having static backlights, and more importantly, what would the wife feel about them. She can be quite vocal on anything she finds irritating and annoying, usually me. On top of that they are not cheap, had to get the 5m length, coming in at £169. I have had them for just over a month so thought I would share my thought's for anyone in two minds about them. They came in quality packaging and were nicely packed in the box. The camera is solid and well made, no cheap plastic here, and the strip of LED lights also look and feel good quality, vastly different to much cheaper LED lights. There is a wire you connect from the camera to a small control box, the lights connect to the same control box as does the power lead that plugs into an electrical socket. The only issue I have had is that the control box, after a short while, kept coming unstuck from the back of the tv. I fixed this with a command strip sticking it directly to wall behind the tv, so no big deal. The important thing is that the lights themselves have stuck, and remain stuck to the tv. Relatively easy to set up and calibrate, via an app on your phone. There is no remote with this kit, all done via the app, but you can link to Alexa or Google to switch on and off, change colour ect, as you can just have a static colour if you wish. The lights are bright and colours are vivid. The change of colour, when using dreamview mode, is virtually instant. The colours on the tv screen are reasonably well replicated by the lights, sometimes the colours may be slightly off from what I'm seeing on screen, but this may be due to my lack of skill at setting it up. The key is to adjust the saturation level on the app, I have mine on 15% and to adjust the white balance, mine is a few notches away from the centre towards the blue end of the scale, to get as close as you can. You can go further and adjust the tv settings to improve it more, but I didn't want to go down that route. To be honest I am more than happy with how it is. I have downloaded a video, but I have to say it doesn't do the lights justice, much better in the flesh as it were. And the answers to my questions at the top of this very long winded review. Yes they do as advertised. I do not find them distracting at all, actually it's now more distracting if the lights are not on. You actually forget the camera is on top of the tv after a very short while. Watching movies, and especially gaming, are definitely given a boost. My wife has not made a comment either way which, believe me, is a very good sign, and yes she still finds me irritating and annoying. Would I recommend? I already have. So to summarise, a good quality product that does what it says. Value for money? Your paying for quality and the technology for it to do its thing, and although not a life essential, they make me happy. It would be nice if they were cheaper, but then it would be nice if everything else was cheaper too. If you have some spare cash to spend on some lights then I absolutely recommend these. Hope this review has helped you decide.

Good but far from perfect
The media could not be loaded. I'm actually happy with this purchase but I'm also a maximalist. Probably there will be improvements later on and I know that most of all would be happy with this. Sure thing whoever gets it from me in the future when I upgrade, will be.The good:- installation is easy, calibration is okay-ish- lighting is fantastic, in the video, the brightness is set to 35%, saturation to 1%, white balance if a bit towards the red, ceiling Govee M1 strip is set to brightness 50%, the video is kind of "dark" therefor expect a lot more light- response is instant, no delays- reliable, works all the time- scenes are synced to Alexa, DreamView (where devices are added as an extra to the TV light strip) also work with a single voice command (or any Alexa routine triggers)- gradient effects are niceThe bad:- no Homekit, no Matter (big down for me but HomeBridge can solve it, tested and works)- connection is either via Bluetooth or WiFi, both connect extremely slow via the App but when it's connected, it's stable- colour accuracy is bad. It's not just a couple of percentages off but actually a lot of hit and misses. Dark parts shouldn't "glow" blue. The ugly:- That camera on top of the screen, yeah we all get it why it's needed but the size is noticable. The good thing is that you can install below the TV with a bit of tweeking in the app.Colour accuracy is a hit and miss as usual with Govee. Found this out in the hard way.
