Shaver S9000 Prestige SP9885/35 paid £214 I pondered just about every model, including the i9000 with lots of features that I didn't want, eventually pulled the trigger on a S9000 (SP9885/35) which whilst a current model is an earlier generation, but uses the same cutters. Only had it a couple of weeks, but wow the shave is fantastic, seems ridiculous to say it but it's a good as a wet safety razor. Way better than my rather worn out Braun, which was never as good as the S9000 even with new cutter and foil. Build quality is great, it's very quiet, I like the wireless charging as it will also charge my phone and the S9000 can also be charged on any QI compatible charger (although Philips don't recommend it) The cleaning pod is most ingenious, and gets the shaver remarkably clean, (it uses the shaver motor to drive a pump that rinses the shaver cutters, returning the solution into the base which has a grid to trap the gunk) I like the way you can start the cleaning by just putting it in the stand when it's on and it starts the self cleaning process. You can clean the pods out and use your own cleaning solution, but I don't mind paying £25 for 6 pods if they last a while. I've had no issues with skin irritation with the S9000, which I occasionally had with my Braun. Very minor gripes, it has three very similar speeds, but it seems to default to the lowest speed initially. The head will be slightly damp after cleaning, but it smells okay. In short highly recommended.

3rd top S9000 series I’ve bought and this is the best, producing the closest shave, stated as 0.0mm. Can be used wet or dry. Easy to clean with flip top, exposing the blades to allow a water rinse. Easy charging by placing razor onto charging panel, hence no direct connection. Only thing missing is carry case. Very good price in Black Friday sale.

I'll keep this review concise and to the point. Having previously owned both the Braun 9000 series and Philips 5000 series shavers, I purchased this model based on promising reviews suggesting it might be the ultimate shaver. Compared to the Braun 9000, this shaver is noticeably smoother and quieter. It's gentler on the skin while still providing a close, silky-smooth shave. However, it's not Phillips' greatest product to date. When comparing it to the Philips 5000 series, I'd recommend saving your money and opting for the 5000 series instead. You'll get 99% of the performance at a lower price point. The package contents are good overall, but some choices are questionable. The inclusion of a wireless charger without a USB option seems impractical for travel, despite the provided case. Additionally, the trimmer is not built into the shaver, which is a drawback. The shave quality is satisfactory, but not significantly better than the 5000 series, despite claims of more cuts and a closer shave. The build quality is slightly more solid, though lighter, and the digital battery display is a nice touch. However, the overall shave experience and travel kit fall short of expectations. Summary: If I could choose again, I'd stick with the Philips 5000 series shaver, which performs exceptionally well. If needed, you can purchase the cleaning station and pod separately, which are compatible with the 5000 series. The only additional feature in this model is the nose and ear trimmer, which I don't believe justifies the price difference. All things considered, I recommend the Philips 5000 series as the better value option.

This rotary electric razor is perfect for me. Following much research I originally ordered another high end razor (foil type) which I'm afraid didn't work well for me at all and returned very quickly. So based in my beard style not suited to foil I went with this high end Phillips and it is just brilliant and I can say shaves as close as my wet razor without and of the cuts and irritation I invariably got even with 40yrs + of practice. I've not tried it yet as a wet shaver and prob never will as dry is just ideal and pretty quick even with a 3 day beard. An easy 5* for this

Excellent shave but the detachable trimmer not so handy as built-in. It shaves as close as a wet razor. Cleaning fluid for the supplied cleaning pod is a bit expensive

Had the 5000 for several years decided to upgrade to the all inclusive version of the 9000 (includes beard trimmer, nose/ear trimmer, wireless charging pad and clever washing/cleaning device) First shave on 9000 was definitely closer than 5000, didn’t feel to glide over the face like the 5000 yet felt like it was engaged with the stubble, not just sliding over shaving foam. Delighted. I’ve sensitive skin and had no burn marks etc. Wireless charge pad is a nice touch, which is USB and two pin. Much bigger than the 5000 simple plug in chord. (Tested the pad, it wouldn’t charge my iPhone) Nasal trimmer worked fine. Not got a beats so can’t test trimmer It comes with a really, and I mean really clever cleaning attachment. You place the razor upside down in the device and it does a high speed rinse of all the heads in a bath of special Phillips solution. I love this. A great idea. A one minute high intensity was after each shave. Overall. Yes, upgrade. You won’t regret it. Great shave. Nice device. If it lasts as long as my 5000 (4 years+) I will be delighted.

I have used this shaver for about two months. It replaced an earlier generation Philips shaver which was beginning to show signs of battery fatigue. This new model has a detachable shaver head (it is integral on the earlier model). It took a while to get used to the larger shaver head but I have now adapted to it and like its performance. Cutting speeds are adjustable. It is bigger than the old model and comes with a separate charger. This will be inconvenient for packing when travelling. It was expensive (even at the Black Friday offer price) but all shavers seem expensive these days.

Here I am, one year after I bought this shaver. I chose Philips Shaver because I wanted a high-quality electric shaver that would give me a quick and efficient shave. Unfortunately, my experience with the product was not a great one. I mainly used the product to shave my head once a week. For the beard, after a few attempts I gave up and went back to the classic Gillette shaver. I was simply not happy with the fact that I had hairs left on the neck and under the nose. In addition, the Philips Shaver does not shave to zero. Pros In the first months of use I was satisfied with the quality of the product. The battery lasted about 3 uses, which seemed reasonable to me. Cons Unfortunately, after about 10 months I noticed a significant decrease in performance. The battery only lasted 2 uses, and the shaver no longer shaved as well, leaving hairs and unshaved areas. I realized that I needed to replace the shaving heads. However, their price is extremely high, £37, which greatly disappointed me. Conclusion If you decide to buy the Philips Shaver 9000 Prestige, you should consider that, in addition to the very high price of the shaver, once every 10-12 months you will also need to buy replacement shaving heads. Unfortunately, I no longer use the Shaver regularly, maybe only sometimes for hair in the ears and nose. I went back to the shaver I used before. Recommendation I do not recommend this product. I consider that the quality-price ratio is not a good one, considering the high cost of the replacement shaving heads and the mediocre performance of the product after a certain period of use.
