Not cheap but good for making red velvet cake

Effective colouring for a red velvet cake. I followed the instructions in my recipe and the resulting colour was very good. Also the colouring didn't impart any discernible flavour to the cake. Overall it worked well.

This food colouring certainly packs a punch! My daughter wanted a cat in the hat themed birthday cake and I needed a food colouring which would not alter the taste or consistency of the icing and cake batter. This fit the bill perfectly.Sugarflair is a super thick gel consistency so you don't get the dilution to batter or icing that you get from liquid food colouring. The taste is not detectable once mixed in. The colour also stands up to heat from baking very well.

I love using this colour in a paste rather than a liquid tou can get in the super markets. The colours are more vibrant and you only need a very small amount.I use this on to colour my red velvet cakes or to paint the outside of my cake

Bought this specifically to make a Red Velvet cake for my son as I had tried with 'normal' supermarket colouring and had not got the correct colouring - the paste was easy to use and definitely gave a fantastic colour from only a small amount of paste but unfortunately was still not deep enough for my Red Velvet cake - I will try the Sugarflair Red Extra colouring next

I've had other branded colour gels before and was shocked at how bad this colour was. It wasn't as vivid and I used at least 4 times the amount that I usually do.The colour was more of a browny red. Not impressed

First time I used the red velvet colouring for red velvet cake and I was super pleased with the results.Finally a great red without having to use too much of it.

Easy to use, quite thick but didn’t exactly get the red velvet colour texture.
