Great for starting fires in fireplace. Warms chimney quickly to create draft in cold cottage. Flame is diffuse not pointed. Might be scary for some, especially in a small kitchen or around children. Flame is adjustable. Push button piezo electric igniter. Diffuse flame makes it easy to brown, caramelize or melt cheese. without burning. Just keep flame moving. Takes a long time to sear if meat is wet. Good for killing weeds in drive. I take the torch apart when not in use to prevent accidental leaks. I've had mine for about a year, still works great.

This works as well and the Su-V-Gun and is a much better price. I need to order another to leave at work.

I used to use a heat gun to start my grill, it lasted 2 years and finally died. Got this and WOW what a upgrade, it really projects flame and starts the charcoal up all over the grill fast as fast gets. Ill never look back, can't speak at the longevity yet but man this thing is nice.

Have only used it a few times, but it lights my Kamado Grill quickly, and can sear a sous vide roast in short order.

I use the torch to light up the firewood in my fire pit and it does the job. My first time using the torch I struggle momentarily because it would fire up when I push the ignition red button because I have the knob turned all the way to the right. There is no “OFF” position on the pistol so I didn’t know but once I figured that out, it is easy to use.

Berzomatic tourch you can adjust valve with no gas flow then press button to start flow and ignite. Lock on with another button to lock if desired.2) DANGEREOUS -- YOU MUST TURN VALVE TO TURN OFF. Other torches button release will stop gas flow.3) DANGEROUS -- Spark ignitor will not ignite gas. See video. It is sparking, I can see and hear it, but gas does not ignite. GAS IS FLOWING. I can light it with a lighter.I purchased this to sear meat. First tried it in my kitchen. Stinks of gas now.THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE BANED BY CPSCYou are crazy if you buy it!!!!!

I have gotten into souse vide cooking and this was the next stage in souse vide. It worked very well until one day it fell off of my bbq pit. The next time I turned it on it ignited into a big fireball that I had a very hard time putting out. My 3 year old kept saying “Daddy threw fire!” I don’t think it was a defect in the product, I just broke it, it is plastic, but I say all that to say… do not use this inside the house. I would have burned down my house if my incident with it happened inside the house. No joke. I’m gonna buy another right now though, it sucks not having one for tomorrow and I’m making a chuck roast souse vide for 24 hours that I guess I’m just going to throw on the grill to sear it, since I don’t have a torch at the moment, since my last one went up in a ball of flames.

Included instructions were spot on, this thing is a beast of a flamethrower and perfect for finishing sous vide steaks.
