You must assemble it yourself but assembly is not hard at all and should only take about 20 mins.
at first it was a little intimidating looking in terms of assembling it but then as I started to build it, it was really easy. It comes with the allen wrench you need to use so you don't even need to have one prior to assembly. Also, two of the screw bags came with 1 extra screw.If the area you are planning to keep it in is space challenged and you dont have great storage, I would say that maybe buying a foldable one is better in terms of stowing it away, but if that's of no concern, this stool is much more aesthetically pleasing than one that folds if that matters to you. Great for an office if there's enough office space to put it away somewhere.

Was high enough to reach the area it was meant to.
We rent a house that has a back porch/patio. We don't often use this back porch but there are times we need to step down from this porch to the back lawn when doing yard work. Since there are no steps from the top of this patio to the back yard and the gap is more than one "normal" step, we needed something that we could place at the gap area to ensure an easy transition from one height to the next. We bought these steps only for use when doing yard work to climb up and down easily. They are really indoor use steps but we don't use them for more than a few hours during good whether. They were the least expensive option. They were east to assemble and are fairly sturdy. They were worth the money.

Wonderful product
Bought this to use after a total hip replacement - getting in/out of our Jeep which sits on the high side - and was not disappointed. Easy to assemble and very sturdy, even for a guy like me who weighs in around 275lb.I certainly recommend for use around the house, not for outdoors on ground that is not level.
