Blades came in 3 days
The blades came much faster than I thought they would. Also were of course the exact size and quality I needed. It was going to cost me $3.50 PER INCH to sharpen the blades I had. That would have been $162.75 per set of 3, and I have 2 sets. I hate to not sharpen and reuse things, but at under $50 shipped to my door for a set of 3, how could I not buy these?

The first board I ran was some rough cut yellow pine and the cut quality was terrible. The blade must have been knicked as there
I installed these blades the night of receiving them and went down to the shop to work the next morning. The first board I ran was some rough cut yellow pine and the cut quality was terrible. The blade must have been knicked as there were between ten and twenty tiny raised grooves across the board. They seemed somewhat sharp out of the box but after one run on the planer felt dull when I took them out of the machine. Based on the other reviews here I'd say this was a one off - but still its costing me a whole day in the shop as I now have to drive an hour to town to pick up a set of $73 blades from a local store. These will be American National Steel blades which I've heard better things about in terms of how long it maintains an edge. Based on the other reviews here I'd say these are generally decent, cheaper blades but I'd like to encourage you to think about the value of a blade that keeps its edge. Sharpening is expensive, time consuming and can mess up your work flow. I normally keep 3 sets of blades and they have all been American National. I've sharpened them down to almost 3/4" and they still hold an edge, align well and do the job. I bought this set because I'd sharpened one of the previous down past where it was useable in the planer.
