Bosch ART 26-18 LI 18 V/2.5 A Grass Trimmer with 26 cm Cutting Diameter

I noticed that this had some negative reviews so I thought I would try to offer an alternative view. For me this is a terrific cordless strimmer, quiet and light with a head that adjusts through 90 degrees for vertical edging. It uses a plastic blade rather than nylon line.It comes without a battery or charger, which seems to be one reason why this particular model has some low scores. Perhaps Amazon could make it clear that no battery or charger is provided on this particular model which is why it is a fair bit cheaper. As I already had the charger and two batteries for my Bosch leaf blower this fits perfectly with my other Bosch tools.The assembly instructions could be a little bit clearer but it is easily assembled in a few minutes with the help of a narrow flat-bladed screwdriver. Two screws secure the black cicular guard onto the head. Then the blade holder just clicks on.In action it is excellent, for the first time I was able to edge my lawn with ease and I completed it very quickly. I clobbered the wall a couple of times but the Durablade is intact, if a bit scarred on the tip. The strimmer is light to hold, it is easy to adjust the handle length and the battery seems to last for a good while. I've found in the past that doing the edges of the grass typically takes almost as long as mowing the whole lawn but this tool has made the job a lot easier. The best bit about it is that is light enough for my wife to use and she can clip the edges whilst I mow the lawn - perfect.

Poor instructions (Bosch you should be ashamed) but works quite well compared to my old Fly.. model. It is quite light but annoyingly cuts out when hitting heavier grass - made my fingers ache (after about 30mins of continued strimming) - having to repress start buttons. It is lighter than old Fly.. model.No problem yet with blade.

What a machine. I love this strimmer, the blade design is really good, no more lines that don’t work very well. Does the job, I am very pleased with it. Great product, very easy to put together, shame the battery didn’t come with it. But still worth the money.

The item is light weight and does exactly what it was bought for, trimming grass! that is until the cutting blade becomes useless. The item is supplied with two blades and believe me after being used only twice and trimming no more than 32 mtr of lawn edging they are both USELESS.Come on BOSCH, YOU CAN DO BETTER.

Replaced an earlier model that finally gave up the ghost. This one seems to last a lot longer than the old one, the changes they're made to the design are well thought out and for once, the battery from the old unit, though different in appearance that the new one, actually fits the new strimmer so I have two batteries should I need them which is great as I hate the way other manufacturers seem to almost deliberately make charging cables etc unusable for new models, so well done Bosch for making a new product that ticks all the boxes.

As an update two years on, this is still the worst Bosch product i have ever bought. it cuts out every 30 seconds. Bosch make great DIY power tools, but their garden products are just not the same.======I am very disappointed with this product which does not meet my expectations of the the usual high standard of a Bosch product. The problem i have is that when setting up the strimmer you need to attach the spinning disk which holds the blade onto the main spindle. The pictorial instructions tell you to push down until it locks with a click. This didn't happen and the disk kept spinning off across the lawn. I contacted Bosch who sent me a replacement disk but it still doesn't click into place and spins off. My confidence in Bosch has been further dented when i went back to them to explain the situation and they couldn't be bothered read my email. Their response was to refer me to a You Tube video in German which shows you how to install a blade on a discontinued model which uses different blades. I think i need to send this back and find an alternative manufacturer

Lightweight and easy to use. Does a good job on long grass, weeds, brambles etc. Not a heavy duty brush cutter, but for general weeds n stuff it's great. Battery recharges very quickly too.

I am a fan of Bosch equipment having a cordless hedge trimmer and garden vacuum/blower from them and being impressed with their design quality and build.This product is, I am sorry to say, is the exception that proves the rule.You will read elsewhere about how the "durablade" only lasts a short time and is extremely expensive to replace; I can only concur with these sentiments. The spool and line found on most strimmers is both effective and cheap to replace. I cannot understand why Bosch think this is a better option.Whilst I am very taken with the idea that the battery is interchangeable with other Bosch products and that there is nothing wrong with the design or handling of the trimmer; the "blade" problem overshadows any plus points and forces me to recommend that you should not purchase this product
