I visit my dentist every year or year and a half. How do I get by with so few visits and always, "Look ma, no cavities?" Why does the hygienist say, every time I do go to the dentist, "Your teeth are so clean"?1) Genetically blessed with good teeth2) A balanced diet, avoiding (but not eliminating) sweets . . . and NEVER drinking soft drinks3) Regular brushing with a Braun rechargeable toothbrush. Their battery-operated ones are okay, but the plug-in rechargeable is stronger. (I usually use a non-fluoride toothpaste due to the toxicity of fluoride.) In spite of their great rating, Sonicare toothbrushes did nothing for my teeth.4) Scaling (scraping) my teeth with these dental tools. Your teeth should feel smooth, like glass. When they feel "rough," that's the plaque building up. The next time you go to the dentist, pay attention to how the hygienist cleans your teeth. Especially pay attention to how hard s/he presses against your teeth and what areas seem to be problematic. At home, use the various scalers in front of a well-lit mirror. Make sure you never press any harder that the hygienist did. Be especially careful if you have "soft" teeth. Using a light touch, you may be slower, but the hygienist has the tools (air) that make it easier to see the plaque. You are going more by "feel." If the scaler slips right across the surface of the tooth, no plaque. If it drags, go over that area until it is smooth, cleaning the scaler as you work so you don't jam any crud under your gums.Hope this helps . . .

I was very surprised when I got these at how nice they are. Sometimes what we see in the picture and actually get are a bit different and sometimes much different ! This was actually better than what I was expecting ! They are solid stainless steel. Some have said that these are almost as good as the one in the dentist office but I can see no difference. Then again I have never actually studied the ones in the dentist office.The reason I got this is because I had some plaque or something stuck between my teeth and flossing etc would not remove it ! It is something that happens to me rarely but it is so aggravating trying to find something that is sharp and thin enough and safe to put in your mouth to get it out. That was about two weeks ago and I said surely there is something they sell at an affordable price that will do this better! I ordered these and yes they are perfect for that and much more I never thought about ! Two of these are specifically made to remove tarter etc. So they clean too! And they clean good ! I get stains between my teeth that are impossible to remove even with flossing. It is sad because my teeth are so white and that stain between them looks so bad. Well now problem solved ! I never expected that ! Also have you ever felt with your tongue that something was in your teeth but couldn't find it? Well this cool little mirror solves that problem too and some how or another just as it says it does not fog up with your breath ! Not sure how that works but wonderful ! I like how they put an instruction manual with this explaining what each one of these are designed to do. Other than the picks I would have had no idea ! The case is real nice to keep them in and for all you get considering the quality this is an unbelievable price ! I wish all my orders were like this in getting more than what you expected ! Quality dental tools that I personally believe will be a wonderful set at a great price. Unfortunately I have to return my set because, scouts honor, the very first time I opened the holding case the zipper ripped. I am 48 and patient w/ how I handle things and at 90lbs and an extreme ORAL GENETIC DISORDER I have the strength of a 10 year old half asleep. We need the manufacturing company to just upgrade the case which does have nice tool holding features and these are a 5+ on my scale. Let me tell you you do get what you need to do any work and they r strong. So if you already have a case...buy them,you will be glad you did. You can't go wrong w/ stainless and they feel good (w/weight) in your hand. Have a super day!Barbij

Amazing tools for your dental well being, esp if you have braces!! I recently got braces and these tools helped me get into tight spaces where I was developing build-up. Kit comes with description of each tool and what they are used for. I sanitized my tools before using them in alcohol with a tiny bit of water. Let them soak on each end for about 5 min. Amazing! No rust on any of the tools. When I unzipped the pouch it did have a chemical smell but I let it vent open over night and it's pretty much gone. Would def buy again!!! I'm sure I'm going to ace my dental appointments going forward.

Scary tools. I order them when I had a toothache, thinking I would fix it myself. When the tools came I was feeling a little better so I set them aside. When I finally did open the package I found some very professional looking tools. They look very sharp and like they could do some damage if someone didn't know what they were doing. So I haven't used them yet. They are pretty heavy and look like the real deal to me (not that I would know because I have zero knowledge in the art of dentistry). Maybe I'll update this review if I ever get the courage to use them.

Far better than I was expecting. Was expecting total junk but these are solid tools. Also, for some reason almost everyone here seems to be sterilizing them with just soap or alcohol. Alcohol or soap does not kill all germs and bacteria. You should really boil these for 30 minutes before using, which is what I did. I was afraid the mirror would become dislodged but it's perfectly fine. I've had them soaking in water for 48 hours to see exactly how "stainless" they are, and there are no signs of rust.

The quality of the product is good at this price.I have a couple cavities that were filled but need through cleaning.This set of tools are helpful to remove the food debris that are hard to reach.I also use the mirror to check the teeth of my kids.The instructions are not very clear and detailed enough for a general user.
