Lightweight and great ride
So I took my chance to get the 20” for my son since he’s on the taller side and use it as his first learning bike. My son learned to ride this yesterday (Saturday) and on the first day after 20-30 minute session with his dad, he learned to ride/pedal this on his own. This bike is beautiful, lightweight and easy to ride for first learners and great for those that already know. It was a bit tricky getting the front brakes set right but assembling wasn’t too bad.

Great bike for 8 year old
8 year old son loves this bike. It is really light & well made. Easy to put together, just be sure to check every bolt. Quite a few of the pre-installed ones were loose. Love that brakes can be customized to fit his hand size so well. Good bike, happy with purchase.

Mostly easy setup, brakes too a little longer
Bike is pretty awesome. All of it went together pretty easily. The instructions were fairly easy to follow along with. The biggest problem I had was with adjustment of the brakes. It took a long time to center the pads to the rim, because although there were instructions on what to do to correct the issue, the instructions were not clear and vague. I spent a good amount of time troubleshooting until I got it to the point where I was satisfied my son could stop when needed without worrying the brakes would give out. And as it turns out, after talking with my father-in-law, then spokes needed some slight adjustment too because the rim was dragging on the brakes just in one spot. But there is no instructions on how to correct that. There's also some reflectors that seem like they are supposed to clip on to something, but I couldn't for the life of me find a place to put them, and there was no instructions where to put them. The bright side is that the bike is light enough for my son to handle without it being a burden. He's 6, and a little on the shorter side, but the seat can be set to a suitable height for him. So all in all, it was a great purchase, just the brake issue.

Almost returned it - so happy I didn’t!!
When I put this bike together, I was surprised and disappointed that I had paid for a new bike (20 inches) that was not actually much larger than our current bike (18 inches). So much so, that I decided I would return it and went back to trying to teach my daughter (7) on her current bike. When I couldn’t raise the handlebars on her current bike, we tried the Retrospec again, using the same method (taking pedals off and lowering seat, then raising seat and putting pedals on after she could coast and control the steering). It was amazing how much easier this bike was for her to ride and control. It may not look much bigger, but I think they designed it this way on purpose. She will still get a few years out of it, and I am thrilled with the quality and style, as well as ease of riding. We will absolutely upgrade to the 24 inch of this same bike when she’s ready. It was $200 and two evenings well spent. Highly recommend!

The Perfect First Bike!
We bought it for our daughter, and it has been fantastic. I was so relieved that it was incredibly easy to assemble right out of the box. Most importantly, the bike is sturdy and feels very safe. It's so well-balanced that our daughter learned how to ride completely on her own without ever using training wheels! Highly recommended for any parent looking for a great, safe starter bike.

The right bike for us
Needed a new bike for our 7 year old daughters and after lots of research the Koda Plus provided the best price for the features I was looking for (lighter frame, hand brakes, size, training wheel option). After two or three 30 min sessions my daughter was able to ride well.

Not long lasting
We’ve replaced multiple tires and now the brakes have completely come off the bike and are not repairable. The bike is stored indoors when not in use and ridden on only smooth road surfaces. Disappointed in quality for a bike intended to grow with a child.
