High Quality, No Difficulty Installing
Mounted on a Cub Cadet ZTXS5. I recommend buying the suspension with the slider rather then trying to use the Cub Cadet slider that came with the mower. The ZTXS mowers come in 3 models: The 4, 5, and 6. The 6 has a Cub Cadet suspension, The 4 & 5 do not. Instead, Cub Cadet uses two spacer rails under the slider to keep seat height about equal between the models. This suspension does raise the height of the seat, but, removing the spacers keeps the height increase to about 2.5"-3" when seated.I am 76yrs old with both a full hip and full shoulder replacement in the last 8 months and I had no real issue installing this unit by myself. (I do have 50yr experience as a heavy equipment mechanic.) All the existing bolt holes worked with no drilling. Probably the same for other Cub Cadet models. My suggestion for mounting: First, mount the slide rails to the bottom of the suspension. The rail with the handle goes on the operator's right with the handle facing up. Then mount the suspension and rails to the mower's mounting plate. Next, mount the upper plate to the seat bottom. I used the original Cub Cadet bolts and spacers. Make sure the plate is facing in the proper direction. There are two openings in the plate flanges, a large one and a small one. The small one goes to the front. This is where the adjusting shaft comes through. Then mount the seat and plate on the suspension. That's pretty much it, except running the wires for the seat switch. I brought them out the front and then back in next to the adjusting knob. There are 5 wires in the one cable, so the 2 wire extension provided is useless. I may yet re-route my cable.I haven't mowed yet, but, even sitting in my garage with the suspension adjusted to my weight, the difference was amazing. The only conflict I have experienced is that the front of the seat cushion rubs against the adjusting knob and makes adjusting a bit inconvenient. I don't expect to be changing the adjustment though once set.I could have just ordered the suspension that Cub Cadet puts on the 6, but, I doubt that the price would have been anywhere close to this suspension. This unit is very well constructed. If you have a helper then fully assembling the seat and suspension to each other before installing on the mower may work for you. For me, it was easier to install in two pieces.

Really smooths out the ride on a zero turn mower!
This is great and exactly what I was looking for. I added it to my Big Dog zero turn mower. It fit no problem. There's basically no install instructions but if you are mechanically inclined, it's no problem. You will more than likely have to add extensions to the control arms as it will add about 4 to 6 inches to the height of the seat. It works great and really keeps you from getting jarred on rough yards.

Works for Bad Boy MZ without modification
Solidly built. Mounted right up to my Bad Boy MZ. Feels like a commercial grade seat and the adjustment works nice both for the suspension and the sliding track. One star off for terrible instructions. Took about 2 hours to install.

Very Well Made
Fit perfectly on my eXmark Quest 42" Zero-Turn mower. I've never had back problems, but my mower came with a fixed seat, bolted directly to a thick metal plate, that is hinged to allow access to the battery. It took me a while to realize that every time I used the mower, my lower back felt like I need to go to the ciropractor for an adjustment. When I discovered that these "seat floats" were available, I had to try one. I looked at dozens of models before deciding on this one. The main reason I picked this one is because it has springs and gas struts, not just one or the other. I think just springs would be too bouncy, like Oliver Douglas riding the tractor on 'Green Acres'.Anyway, this one bolted right on. I used all the existing holes in the mower seat, which bolted to the slots on this unit, and they aligned perfectly. Then I bolted the unit, with the seat attached, to the seat plat on the mower. There was plenty of nuts, bolts and washers too. It took about 30 minutes and one band-aid. Something on the mower had a burr that got a knuckle. As for how it performs...I've mowed the yard three times since I bought it and I can say that I no longer feel like I need to go to the ciropractor after mowing the yard. It is very comfortable. The knob on the front adjust the firmness of travel up and down and can be adjusted by your weight. II weigh 178 lbs. and I have it about mid-way, so it dosen't bottom out as I'm hitting rough spots in the yard. It does raise me up about four or five inches, but I still have clearance between the steering arms and my legs. The track is adjustable forward and back like a car with manual seats.I'm very satisfied and if it will last as long as the mower I will be very happy.

Well worth the money!
This thing is awesome! Yes it has good ratings yes the install instructions suck the book gives you a basic idea diagram so it's sufficient what I like the most is that my holes were off and they included a drill bit specifically to cut through it. Great ride for the adjustable I was even able to go back further than my factory seat adjustment allowed , yes it's heavy however I would buy again.

Works great
The suspension seat works great ! There are no instructions included. I used the ad photos and some of the explanations from previous reviewers. My mower is an Ariens Apex. It does raise the seat height by 5-6 inches but it's not that bad when sitting on it with springs compressed. It definitely smooths the ride on rough terrain. On the installation, i removed the seat and took off factory sliders. I then bolted the suspension bottom to the platform on the mower, using the provided spacers for clearance. Next remove top plate on the base, there is two bolts on each side ,eight altogether. Then decide where you want to mount your seat, mine fit best even with the front edge . I used two of the holes that were there and marked two holes 8 inches to the rear to match the factory seat bolt holes . Bolt the seat and bracket back on and your ready to go .
