Q: How wide is the base?

My wife bought this for our granddaughter and it resides at my son's house so I can't give you an 'eyes on' answer, but the dimensions given in the item description show the two base pieces to be 15.7 inches long giving you a base circumference of approximately 48 inches. I hope this helps

Yes. It is very easy to assemble.Takes only 2 minutes,you just need to screw the two wood pieces together.

The silicone pad is more non-slip, the baby crib arm can be firmly fixed on the crib, will not shake, very safe.

Not much, I would say no more than 12 ounces
