An inspiring story of a little girls courage.
A wonderfully written story about a courageous little girl and how her bravery changed the trajectory of her entire family. I love the historical aspect of this story and can't wait to read more about Talula, the Black Seminole girl. LB Anne captures from the very beginning of the story and holds your attention throughout the entire book.Make room in your home library for this book ... this is a must read.

OH...MY...GOODNESS!
What an incredible story about not one but two brave girls from different eras of life. This book will inspire boys and girls to ask questions and research their own family history. The author did an excellent job giving her readers just the right amount of information appropriate for this age group. I HIGHLY recommend it!

An amazing middle grades treasure!
I absolutely loved this book, and I am going to incorporate it into my homeschool curriculum for my 4th- and 8th-graders. The author was brilliant to weave a modern family with an ancestor because I believe that young readers may be able to make a connection with them. It is obvious that the writer did a lot of research, and I am going to recommend this valuable resource to all of our homeschool groups.

Five Things about dragon flies is a well written story about a young girl with tremendous courage, who embarks on a family vacation which allows her to learn more about her family history and touches on the aspect of slavery in just the right amounts so that the young reader can understand and feel intrigued to ask more questions.Great storyline and highly recommended.

Amazing read
Great story, well-told. Story about a brave girl, her family and her bravery in the face of slavery. This is a must-have for anyone interested in exposing their children to important issues and people in the social justice movement. This book also adds powerful voice to the millions children who suffered under the bondage of slavery. Wonderful read!

A must read for all children.
This book should be mandatory reading for all school kids as part of US history, at least that's how I feel. I love this book's combination of facts and fiction. I feel as though the children of today are starting to no longer appreciate their own history, maybe this book will ignite that interest again...great job LB
