When five outsiders on community service get struck by a flash storm they end up lumbered with special powers. Hard-as-nails Kelly can suddenly hear people’s thoughts, shamed sporting hero Curtis discovers he has the ability to turn back time, and party-girl Alisha can send people into a sexual frenzy when they touch her skin. Even painfully shy Simon can make himself invisible, which makes it all the more hard to swallow for smart-alec Nathan, who seems to have been unaffected... or has he?Unlike their more conventional counterparts, our misfits don’t swap their ankle tags and mobile phones for capes and tights. Instead, they discover just how tough life can be when you’re stuck with a super power you didn’t want. Amazing
My sister nagged me for weeks to watch this programme. I remember the advert of Series 2 being broadcast in 2010, however it never really caught my attention, but when I sat down to watch the first episode I thought "Oh my God, why haven't I seen this before?"I think the most loveable thing about this programme is the fact that the characters are not perfect, obviously. They're all young adults all with their different stereotypical faults, and everyone who watches it will be able to relate someone they know to each of the 5 characters. There's Kelly (the slightly chavvy, opinionated one), Alisha (the sex-obsessed, stereotypical popular girl), Simon (the socially retarded one), Curtis (the disgraced athlete) and Nathan (the damaged one who never seems to shut up), and when all of them (except Nathan) get superpowers, things start to get complicated. Because of this and the hilarious, dirty and clever plots and scripts, these episodes become more addictive the more you watch of them.Personally, I loved every single episode of Series 1 and 2 - each was funny and different enough from the rest that you remember each one individually. In my opinion I think Series 2 probably just had the edge as the script seemed to reflect the writers becoming more confident with what they were doing, which definitely benefits the series as a whole.I must admit that I haven't actually watched Series 3 or 4 due to my (possibly unhealthy) love of Robert Sheehan's character Nathan, and even though people tell me that Series 3 is almost as good without him, I still don't want to watch Misfits without Nathan, because the misfits aren't THE misfits without all five members.Still, I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone, although it is moderately rude with a lot of sexual references.

Brilliant viewing.
Is this the best show on British telly?, probably, its either Misfits or The Inbetweeners - Series 1-3 - Complete [DVD], both are very very good but am drawn to Misfits like an addiction, i have to watch it every week and there is trouble if i miss it, its just so amazing and am not even into all this sci-fi stuff, if its unreal or un-believable i normally hate watching what ever it might be, but with misfits i just can't get enough, and it has its funny bits aswell and Robert Sheehan who plays Nathan young is just out standing in Misfits, he is so funny its unreal. The second series has just finished and i have read that a 3rd series has been commissioned by channel 4 that will air in 2011 (probably around November).EDIT :- ** 22nd April 2011 ** , On the 10th April it was reported that Robert Sheehan who plays Nathan Young is leaving the show and will not be in the new series ( the 3rd series ) to be aired in mid to late 2011.This is bad news to me as i think Nathan makes the whole show worth watching as he is so funny and so spontaneous, am not even sure the show can survive without him, however the writers of the show are very clever so we will have to wait and see but i think this is the beginning of the end.

Simply brilliant
I came across misfits by accident, after viewing a trailer for Season 2. I couldn't stop watching and saw all episodes of the 2 series in a single weekend.this is the first TV show that surprised me so much in a very long time. The dialogues, the characters, the storylines, the whacky situations the gang is thrown in... everything was just brilliant, and so different from what we are used to see, I just can't explain the delight it was to watch Misfits.Of course, Nathan, with his motor-mouth and his ability of not caring about anything or anyone was simply fantastic, but Simon's akwardness/creepiness, Kelly's in-your-face attitude, and Alisha's "sluttiness" were all depicted in such a refreshing way that I could not help myself with falling in love with the show. Add to this concept-episodes (a la Groundhog day), and a TOP NOTCH acting (seriously, the cast is just incredible), and here you are => one of the best teen series ever, not just for teens!

Good value and service
Arrived safely and promptly. Discs appear to be in good condition, some scuffing on casing but to be expected as 2nd hand.

Misfits
Misfits is a brilliant programme about 5 young offenders on community service who end up with super powers after a storm. It's often laugh out loud funny but also a bit gory in some places. I was gripped from the 1st episode and can't wait until the next series. This programme is mainly aimed at young adults and will mostly appeal to people between 18 and 30 years of age, but my parents enjoyed it too so it isn't limited just to that age range. The young actors who play the characters are all very talented and give very convincing performances, so that you care about their characters (especially painfully shy Simon), and you find it hard to believe that they are not exactly like their characters in real life. It's not al all suitable for children because of language, occasional gore and sex scenes, which is why this box set is a certificate 18.I give this 5 stars!

Great! But not for kids. Seriously.
With a tv series called Misfits I thought it would be something that I can watch with kids around. The bit about one of the girls with lust as her power must've slipped my mind. Huh.Sex, death, death, sex, death and oh look, death by lactose. But anyway, it was an enjoyable watch. It was raunchy, dark, unforgiving and hilarious to boot! Don't expect any morals at the end of the story - there's usually none and if there are, it's all about the basic of human nature - be true to yourself, friendship hurrah and all that jazz. It's really about bored teens who are stuck together, with powers they accept in a nonchalant manner that they use to goof around with and, when need be, save their asses from time to time.Save the cheerleader, save the planet? Only after some feet dragging or for Nathan, kicking and screaming.
