My hair is black. Would this dye make my hair any lighter?

There's nothing on the box that say its suitable black hair

I dyed my hair med ash blonde and it came out brown. would this lighten it without making it orange?

After using this colour I wasn't happy as it came darker as expected. It doesn't make it orange but if you want it lighter then go for something else. Hope this helps.
