Enjoyable saga
Enjoyed the saga though sometimes the heroine was too good to be true

Good story, slightly contrived plot
Adeline has escaped her abusive father and fiancee. She heads west to Texas and under strange circumstances meets Jackson Pruitt.Jackson is on his twice monthly visit to town when a lady faints in front of him.I will give nothing more away as not to spoil the story. The reason I deducted a star was because I thought the action on which the story pivots was slightly contrived and did not sit well with me. It did not gel with Jackson's character at all. Plus it was set up by Adeline's lie, which again I thought was out of place. However, the story would not have unfolded as it did, so that is just me nitpicking. Hats off to the author anyway for having the talent to write this story in the first place.

Found this book discounted on Amazon via BookBub; this is my honest review.
-The title caught my eye and thought it would be unusual to find a place where the four winds collide.-It was funny how Jackson and Adeline met and got married; I wouldn't wish it on anyone, though.-Their relationship is sweet and their love affair grows slowly, as it should. But there are so many lies that it also brings hurt, guilt, doubt, mistrust and bad decisions.-There is a lot a drama in the story; mostly with Adeline and her past/present situation but not with Jackson. Be aware: Adeline is raped repeatedly. There are no details but you know this is what she endures.-It's a western but apart from getting the cows to change from pasture to pasture, not much else about ranching is said.-There are other couples in the story and it was interesting to see how they interacted with each other and the rest of the group.-Editing needs a serious pass. The author/editor doesn't seem to see the difference between the possessive and the verb such as you're/your and his/is. Missing words. Jackson Hewitt vs. Pruitt.

Where the four winds collide
A thoroughly enjoyable story from beginning to end. Plenty of twists and mysteries. I was disappointed when I got to the end, it's one of those stories you don't want it to finish.

Wrong last name??
Was Jackson Pruitt's last name or Hewitt? Other wise an ok book. I think their reactions and language were to 'hip' and not really what they would have said.

Wonderful Western Romance
When Adeline Buckley finds her fiance having sex with another woman in the barn while she's helping his sister deliver a baby, she calls off the wedding and the jerk knocks her around. The creep goes to her father, a man with a drinking problem, and tells him they've been having relations and insists on marrying her. Adeline's father beats her while the creep stands by and grins the whole time. Abused, but not beaten, Adeline gathers her meager belongings together and after a brief stint of work at a bordello, finds herself on a stagecoach full of young, preening women. Little does she know that they are heading to their mail-order weddings. When she faints in the lobby, she wakes up briefly in the arms of a handsome man and signs some papers, not understanding that she, too, has joined the ranks of the "Just Married."Jackson Pruitt is a man's man who raised his kid brother after his mother died and his father abandoned the boys. Leaving him to raise Heath on his own, his father also left a large sum of money to him in a bank account, cash Jackson never touched. When he marries Adeline, Jackson does it out of a sense of honor. His kid brother had written letters to some woman, claiming to be Jackson, and proposed. He is pleasantly surprised to discover he likes Adeline. That is until her ex-fiance arrives on his ranch, claiming Adeline and he were married and she has run away--again. Hildie McQueen has crafted a story of the a by-gone era in the old west with mail-order brides, cattle rustling, and ranching. In the absence of women's rights and in the presence of a series of horrific abuses at the hands of her thug of an ex-fiance, Adeline survives, triumphs, and against all odds finds joy in the arms of the man who turned his back on her, then when he discovers the truth, turns over all of Texas and beyond to rescue and win her back. It is a tale of betrayal, love, and forgiveness and I give it five big sheriff's stars and highly recommend this read.

Great story but lots of errors in the book.
I really did enjoy this book and I am currently reading the second one. However I gave the 3 because of the enormous amount of missing words, women when it should have been woman and tons of other errors. It could be the kindle edition is why there are so many word usage errors and missing words and wrong words. I will also say the same type of mistakes are in the second book I am reading now. I enjoyed the story very much and would have rated it higher had there not been so many mistakes.

I Loved This Book!
I could not put it down. Ms.McQueen sucked me into the story right away. Adeline's plight touched my heart. I was so worried about her. The author wove a wonderful story full of heartbreak, love and redemption. Just as I thought Adeline was a goner, the author threw a good person or two in her path. The humanity of the characters, imperfect, but lovable, made this book seem so real. Yes, I fell in love with Jackson! The historical setting of the old West was fascinating. She put me right in the scene. But the finishing touch that deserve five stars is the quality of the writing.Lyrical, descriptive without going overboard, evocative language enchanted me. I recommend this book highly. I've already got another book of hers on my Kindle. Can't wait to start reading.

Best writing to date
In my opinion, this is the best work that Hildie McQueen has put out to date. My favorite before this one was the second Protector book "Desperate Surrender." Desperate Surrender The Protector series is a good read even if you aren't into Paranormal stories. I got this book as a bedtime read and it was really hard to leave it that way. I would spend the day thinking about the characters and just got really into the book. It is believable, it is funny and it has sad parts too. Not overly western, the author does a great job at not getting too technical.Overall, worth every penny I spent. Actually, I think I made out like a bandit the story was so good! Desperate Surrender

Good story
I enjoyed this story with likable characters, intertwined by blood and friendship. I liked how forgiveness is recommended, yet the book isn’t preachy. It could have been proofread better but that doesn’t take away from the story.

An excellent romance!
4 1/2 stars. It was hard to read about the difficult things that happened to Adeline. Jackson was a good man, but his personal flaws turned out to be dangerous for her. It was a difficult romance but quite satisfying!

enjoyed it!
I read an excerpt of the story on the authors page, and thought it was going to be a quirky funny story. I was wonderfully surprised when after the quirkiness the intense drama and hurting made an appearance. This story kept me up late at night and I enjoyed every minute of it. The characters found the forgiveness they needed to give and received to move forward and it made the story come to a complete circle.

Romance at its Best
This is why I love historical westerns- The emotions of love, fear, helplessness, anger- did I mention love? Hildie McQueen put me through all of these emotions and I enjoyed every second of it. An excellent writer with wonderful characters including a few cowboys I'd love to know. There are a lot of Mail Order Bride books out there and I tried so many that didn't come close. Where the Four Winds Collide is a book you won't want to put down- one of the best novels I've read this year
