Just makes you want to pick up a pen and sketch!
Felix is an incredible artist. He is uber productive and is clearly passionate about what he does. Flicking through the pages alone makes you want to pick up your pen and start scribbling away, making this a very hard book to read and finish! But when you do stop and read the authors/artists words you quickly realise that there’s a lot more to this book than drawings alone. Felix will inspire anyone to get sketching regardless of their initial resistance. I bought this book for kindle (as I couldn’t wait for the hardback release) and I was pleasantly surprised to see how readable it is on the kindle app (for iPad). I suspect I’ll buy it as a physical book too as it’s such a good reference book but don’t be put off reading it digitally, if you have a high enough resolution screen to do the artwork justice. I recommend this book to anyone from novice doodler to hardcore urban sketcher!

Inspired me to embrace imperfection
There are tons of books which teach you how to draw "better" - I own some really helpful ones. When I bought this book, I was actually looking for a something to teach me how to do "better" sketches, but I think the book has given me something more valuable than that: it's taught me that "better" is not the same as being more photorealistic, because great sketches can be characterful precisely *because* they aren't perfect. The book is teaching me to embrace my drawing imperfections as part of my style. The book is full of fun and excitement rather than more dull tutorials about the best way to do shading, and how to perfectly draw noses and hands. And sometimes it's good to have a dose of fun and excitement and to forgive and even celebrate the fact my sketches aren't perfect. The style of the book is a breath of fresh air compared to so many other art books which teach you how to copy and make your drawing look just like what you're looking at. It's the difference between an art history lecture from a stuffy classical artist, and having a chat with an artistically talented friend over coffee and donuts (this book is the latter). The book teaches you to toss away your inhibitions, make a sketch to capture bits of what you see or imagine, and to hell with the conventions which others may try to impose on you.The outlook is, actually, pretty helpful and sound for life, never mind just sketching. 10/10

Beautifully illustrated, liberating
This is a beautifully illustrated, hardback book by Schienberger. His art style is bold, brave and liberating and in this book he helps to free you from the constraints of "blank paper syndrome". Schienberger's unfussy style of drawing - often straight to ink allows him - and you, his pupil, to spend less time agonising over proportions, details and planning, and more time plunging in with bold, brave strokes, not worrying about straight lines or perfect circles, yet still producing a work you can be proud of.You'll learn too how a little watercolour can really finish off a work, again in the artist's never overworked style.

Inspiring.
One of the few art books that made me stop reading mid sentence a number of times, to do a bit of work in my own sketchbo. I loved reading the book, but enjoyed even more the endless possibilities presented. Inspiring is the key word. I've marked loads of sections for future exploration. Great book.

Nice morning read & inspiration
I enjoyed reading this book. I have no desire to travel extensively but this inspired me to sketch my hometown. The pictures are good examples and the tone of the book is friendly and informal.
