Everbuild CONA5 Stick 2 Instant Contact Adhesive 5L

I had a few sheets for Formica to stick to some MDF workbenches. All the advice is to use contact adhesive and so I duly bought this product. You see people using a roller and the tin suggested using a brush. Yeah. my MDF and Formica soon looked like the surface of a rocky moon after trying to apply it in this way. It just turned to lumps and undulations so fast. Fortunately I was sensible enough to test it first and so hadn't ruined a couple hundred quids worth of materials.In the end I used a wood block to essentially smear the stuff on which helped keep a thin even film which suited my purposes. In the end it came out fine but I would never try it with this material again for this purpose, I'll get some spray on which will give me a more even coat.Once it was all done the product did at least stick like you would expect it to so it gets full marks for adhesion. Not sure how I could have applied it differently to resolve the issue.

Great value contact adhesive, used it to stick laminate onto a worktop with good result. Because it was such good value I wondered if it would perform as good as the more expensive stuff, but was just as good if not better!
